Draw next Tuesday at 3pm. No easy draw, just some more difficult than other's.
As long as we avoid Dublin I don't care who we get.

*Pot One*
Mayo
Dublin
Kerry
Donegal

*Pot Two*
Galway
Louth
Clare
Armagh

*Pot Three*
Derry
Tyrone
Roscommon
Monaghan

*Pot Four*
Cavan
Cork
Westmeath
Meath

That's the seedings if finals go to form. So worst case:

Dublin
Armagh
Derry
Meath

Best case:

Mayo
Clare
Roscommon
Meath

I know we can't avoid the hardest games forever but I'd love if we got a few, on paper, winnable matches. A group of death would allow for easy excuses. I'd love to see how we currently measure up to a Roscommon or Monaghan

As you say a lot of tough draws.

It's possible we could get Dublin, Donegal, Derry
Or Kerry, Armagh, Tyrone.

It's tough to see us finishing 3rd if we don't get Louth or Clare in our group. Maybe Monaghan or Roscommon will continue their poor form and we could catch them on a good day. Wouldn't bet on it though.

Can't see where win will come from. Clare maybe. Louth we would be underdogs. Sure let's see when draw is made but it's not like it's great to be in a competition where its possible we will get no points.

5-6 weeks is a long time between games, I live in hope they'll be putting serious work in right now. We won't lay a glove on Dublin, Kerry, Derry. Donegal and Armagh look well away from us. But I wouldn't write us off against anyone else in Navan. Not sure if that's optimistic to point of foolishness though.

Apart from Dublin no other team has stood out .
Sligo should have beaten Galway , Mayo were poor against Roscommon but still won Clare everyone will want to draw them Louth were average today if kildare had any forwards they'd have won Tyrone or Cavan I wouldn't fear or Monaghan especially in Navan .
I'd like to avoid Dublin Kerry Derry Donegal Armagh but that's unlikely .
Harnan, Flynn , Grey and possibly Walsh are a massive loss from last year but I'd be very hopeful we'd be good enough if we get the right draw to be very competitive in the 3 games and get to the preliminary quarter finals .
Dublin are certs for the All Ireland hard to believe but they are better than last year.

Better to be there than back in TC. It's where we wanted to be. Not going to write them off just yet.

Here's hoping we get Clare or Louth.
We are capable on our day of pulling out a big performance in Pairc Tailteann on our day against stronger opposition. I could see us putting it up to Monaghan or Roscommon at home.
Against which seed do we get home advantage?

If it's same as last year it will be:
2nd seeds away
1st seeds home
3rd seeds neutral

So toughest opposition in Navan

Great opportunity to get three good games which will be all tests for the lads, hopefully we can compete and see where we are after the three games.

As discussed on other forum post, not every Province has to deal with Dublin year in year out. We all know we are still way behind them however its against the teams from perhaps seed 3 to 9 id be interested in if we can compete.

Galway
Roscommon
Armagh
Monagahan
Tyrone
Mayo
Donegal

We can agree we have the top consisting of Dublin, Kerry, Derry.

If provincial finals go as per the bookies predict(Dublin, Kerry, say Mayo and Donegal), as far as I can make out the below is correct in term of the sequence of the Matches

Weekend of the 18th of May OR Weekend of the 25th if May
Meath playing Away to one of the following
Louth
Clare
Galway
Armagh

Weekend of the 1st of June
Meath playing at Home to one of the following
Kerry
Dublin
Mayo
Donegal

Weekend of the 15th of June
Meath play one of the following at a Neutral venue
Derry
Tyrone
Monaghan
Roscommon

The eternal optimist in me looks at this and thinks;

Weekend of the 18th of May OR Weekend of the 25th if May
Meath playing Away to one of the following
Louth (I guess you are assuming a Dublin win!)
Clare (i guess you are assuming Kerry win!)
Galway (I guess you are assuming Mayo win)
Armagh (I guess you are assuming Donegal win!)

I could see us beating Louth, Clare and Galway - not sure about Armagh. Galway aren't in great form just now and struggled to get over Sligo!

Weekend of the 1st of June
Meath playing at Home to one of the following
Kerry
Dublin
Mayo
Donegal

Home advantage would give us a chance here particularly against Kerry, Mayo and Donegal - I don't see us beating Dublin. Kerry haven't been firing on all cylinders but I expect they will improve through the group! We could easily catch Mayo or Donegal in PT if things went right for us!

Weekend of the 15th of June
Meath play one of the following at a Neutral venue
Derry
Tyrone
Monaghan
Roscommon

I could see us doing well against Tyrone, Monaghan and Roscommon but I think Derry would have too much for us!

Can't wait for the draw!!

Really don't think we've anything to fear. Look at Down last weekend against Armagh, a team we beat twice last summer. If a team shows right application they can compete with anyone. Why should we fear anyone, Cork who are at our level gave Kerry a decent game, Cavan at our level should've beaten Tyrone. We have to be competitive in games similar to this and have belief.

Is there any word on Conor Gray being back for any of the games? I know COR said he hoped the 5-6 weeks would give him time to recover. Just still worried about scoring ability up top. Look at our scoring average apart from against Longford all year and its poor.

Seamus Lavin from dunboyne back on the panel, great addition if true.

That's brilliant news if true. This would free up Keogan for wing back where he can have a bigger impact.

Donal Lenihan seems to be going well for Dunboyne in the league - I know it's a different level - but is he gone by own choice or management choice!

That's as good a draw as you could expect. Provided Louth don't pull off the shock of the century next week!

All-Ireland Group stage draw

Group 1

Connacht winner, Ulster runner-up, Derry, Westmeath

Group 2

Leinster winner, Connacht runner-up, Roscommon, Cavan

Group 3

Ulster winner, Munster runner-up, Tyrone, Cork

Group 4

Munster winner, Leinster runner-up, Monaghan, Meath

So - likely to be Kerry, Louth in with us and Monaghan! Honestly, not the worst draw in the world!
