KK tend to be 'flakey' enough alright, especially in the last round of the competition, if Wexford need a favour!! Not to mention the clock management/'crowd control!!' at this particular event.

Cocky Dublin hurling supporters, You can't move for them :-)

We are not good but will beat Antrim. Won't beat Galway or Cats.

Don't go there Pope!

Maybe your boys can do the same for MD in last game in Salthill :-)

In fairness Barney I've never met a cocky Dublin hurling man.

It's not that I think that Wexford are poor. I think that they have hurlers good enough to beat any team on any given day. It is that Corrigan Park is a very tough place to bring a result out of. Kilkenny would win there alright, but would Dublin or Galway? I reckon that the latter two would struggle to come away with a win out of the place!

My initial comment on Keady was in jest.
You're right, Tony Keady broke a rule and the Galway management could have dealt with it differently, pity they couldn't employ a psychologist at the time! You're leaving out a lot of context, though, and forgetting the rivalry between Galway and Tipp. Many other hurlers broke the same rule but they were not reported, not ratted on by their biggest rival and main obstacle to winning an All Ireland. That caused a lot of hurt and emotion in Galway. They would have needed the best psychologist to deal with it.
There were many other aspects to that story that I won't go into in detail e.g a provincial council dominated by gaelic football and keen Galway rivals was given the power to decide the fate of a hurler, a hurler whose main interest and love in life at the time was to hurl. Those in power displayed very little emotional intelligence, empathy or sense of fair play. We'll leave it at that. It's history."
Indeed. There were plenty of others doing the same as Keady but he was the one made an example of.

It's a pity no journalist bothered to look into the hypocrisy of it all. And how a certain official had a close relative playing in the States at the same time as Keady and didn't suffer the same consequences.

Dublin drew there last year but did win in the league iirc.

I'd say you've met a few Wexford ones?

'Corrigan Park is a very tough place to bring a result out of'. Really? Have you any solid stats that back up this assertion of yours?

Yep for sure CC. Usually the type that only go to games in Croke Park. Unfortunately I don't see too many of these at the minute;-)

Ourselves Clare and Dublin have all not won there in the recent past. In the same period of time we have won in Walsh Park, Nowlan Park, Cusack Park and Pearse Stadium, and lost narrowly in PUC and Croke Park. Clare have won in the Gaelic Grounds, Walsh Park, PUC, Wexford Park, Semple Stadium. So yes, it's not an easy place to go.

It's funny how there were complaints when the round-robin was brought in that it would ruin the cut-and-thrust of Munster hurling yet you then see a parked Páirc Uí Chaoimh and Clare and Cork going at each other hard.

And then you compare it to Leinster which is just a damp squib, Leinster would be better off IMO with a fewer round-robin games and more knock-out games, would at least reduce the number of games that just don't seem to matter

Could do two groups of 4 in Leinster, top two in each group play off in the LSFs and bottom two play off in relegation semi-finals

Winners of the relegation SFs then play the losers of the LSFs in Round 1 of the Qualifiers and the two winners of those games then play 3rd and 4th in Munster in Round 2 of the qualifiers

Can't bring in the 'away goals rule' anyway, or Galway would enjoy a ridiculous advantage off it in Leinster underage fare.

Leinster is hardly a "damp squib"! Standard of hurling lower certainly but it has not lacked excitement. Every year it has gone to wire to determine top three and relegation and sometimes the finalists.

Certainly not boring and this year could be even more unpredictable as I doubt we have seen last of shocks. Just hope Dublin are on positive rather than negative side of any involving ourselves.

Round robin was never going to remove jeopardy in the provincial championships once only 3 teams came out.
