Limerick ability to clock up huge number of points in every game - 26 points last night against a determined decent opposition is fair shooting with more improvement to come . Limerick look likely winners of league looking at last night , Galway next week and then league semi final against Clare ?? or Kilkenny

limerick were good without been spectacular . bad move from cahill pitting a novice on cian lynch who roasted him.......if tipp don't start improving quickly they will struggle to make the 3 in munster.......when you consider the household names limerick were missing ( finn nash hannon hayes o donovan ....flanagan and morrissey came on late and a rusty gillane ) the chasing pack have plenty to do. i taught cathal o neill was excellent but his distribution was not up to scratch......he should be playing the simple pass besides trying the spectacular one.. anther big plus was o dailigh who looked very comfortable at this level.

Just as a matter of interest, who will lose out when Finn, Nash, Hannon, Hayes, O'Donovan and Tom Morrissey return? It won't be easy to drop six from last night's starting team. Big decisions for Kiely, but a great position to be in.

Its very simple. Assuming all are fit and available. Finn will replace O Connor. Nash will replace Casey. Hannon will replace O Neill. Hayes will replace Coughlan. O Donovan replaces Barry Murphy. Tom Morrissey replaces Boylan. The bench would be Mccarthy, R English , B Murphy, A English, Coughlan, O Neill, C Boylan, D Reidy, M Casey, F O Connor, and S Flanagan or D. O Dalaigh

O Dalaigh would be extremely unlucky not to make the 26.

Is Richie English back training that you're having him in the bench?

I just named the bench there. When I said Either Flanagan or O Dalaigh I meant one of them would be starting. I didn't make that clear so sorry about that. I think the team starting the Clare game would be
Quaid, Finn, Morrissey, Nash, Byrnes, Hannon, Hayes, O Donoghue, O Donovan , Hegarty, Lynch, Morrissey, Gillane, Flanagan or O Dalaigh and Casey

OK, I maybe should have copped that. Cathal O'Neill would walk onto any other county team so it just shows the awesome strength of the Limerick panel.

Cathal O'Neill did very well attacking the ball and getting the ball in his hand, he had a bad day at the office in terms of distribution.
If Hannon is back next week ( i have no idea of his situation) it would be great for CON to get a run in the half forward line so he could really push for a starting place where he is comfortable playing.
Great to see Cian Lynch moving so freely, he dictated the game albeit against an inexperienced Center back. The way he can snap a ball into his hand in the blink of an eye in a crowded area is amazing.

I agree with you as regards Cathal O'Neill, he read the game impeccably from a defensive perspective, showed up everywhere you would want your centre back to show up and got on an amount of ball, but he made some poor decisions as regards distribution and took on some hail Mary shots which were low percentage shots given the conditions. Declan Hannon is the master of distribution and will always be 1st choice for that reason however I think there will be loads of learnings for Cathal O'Neill when they review this and I still think with a bit more experience he could play there if required.

If all fit and well I agree with you're team and I think Flanagan will start instead of O'Dalaigh due to experience and that fact that Ennis will be a bear pit.

What's amazing from a Limerick perspective is that if this it the first team, then a Limerick second 15 of McCarthy, F O'Connor, M Casey, R English, Costelloe, Reidy, Coughlan, Murphy, A English, A O'Connor, O'Neill, Houlihan, Mulcahy, O'Brien and O'Dalaigh would still win a lot of Intercounty matches. The depth in the group is ridiculous

I think Shane OBrien will be close as an alternative to Seamus Flanagan, another big man to help Gillane and good ball winner that can score.

Probably needs to show a bit more from his starts so far to warrant inclusion for playing a part come championship. Hopefully he gets a chance this weekend and takes it.

Decent result all things considered.. Would have been a pity to lose after playing so well in the second half.
Byrnes and WOD made a world of difference when they came on. Brought a bit of steel that was missing in the first half. Hegarty offered plenty and looked sharp also. Adam English is a class act and was superb today.

Shame about O Briens red, he was playing well enough up to that point. Very pleased with Fergal O Connor, lad definitely looking like he has enough about him for this level.
Speaking of him, it's unreal the Galway 5 didn't get a straight red for that filthy tackle to O Connors head.. No place for it.
Also David Burke was very fortunate not to be sent off for his chop down on Casey.. They probably should have had 2 red cards. The fact they didn't and we dug out a draw in tough conditions bodes well.

Very encouraging to see that second half performance. Psychologically another blow to Galway after one against tipp last weekend both of whom I expect to see in latter stages of championship. Once byrnes wod hego came in the game completely changed. Galway came with an over the edge performance today and Limerick only got better the worse the tackles got

That was a formidable Limerick performance.

Everything went against you and still managed to not lose

very good result considering we started the match minus 7 of the team that started last yrs all ireland and played most of the game with 14 men ....altho against a poor galway side .henry has a lot of work to do.
