Only one wrong Ollie, unlucky. Nicks with the first shock of Championship 2023. I am liking the staggered start to the championship. Junior gets all the spotlight for one week, Intermediate starts this week and Senior next week. I would like to see a return to double headers.

Yeah four out five is not a bad return giving me a 80% winning rate. Fair play to the Nicks. I did not see that coming. Sunday was a good day for the Drawda teams with all three of them winning.

I should say five out of six instead of four out five which gives me a winning rate of 83% which is even better.

Junior championship becoming more open than a few weeks ago. Dunleer lucky to get over the line V McDermotts. Nothing new with Dunleer I suppose as they always choke in championship. Glyde and Barrs next week. Good chance one of these two will be gone after it. Maybe its the time of the Nicks and Tones to go deep into the championship.

Inter continues to be hard to call. O'Connells as good as a relegated. Mattock clear favourites before they even play a game. After that any of the rest will fancy a good run.

If Barrs don't win they could be knocked out on score difference if Nicks win. So as it stands they have not qualified from group as you state.

The Strapper it's a long shot but the Barrs could still miss out on a quarter final spot. If the Barrs beat them by 6 points and the Nicks beat Ammaghminnon by 10 points they would lose out on score difference.

The Nicks will appeal against their elimination from their JFC, throwing in doubt this weekends Junior quarter finals. They were knocked out after the GAA introduced a mini league system which send Glyde through as group runners up behind the Barrs.

Fair play to the Joe's qualifying out of a group with St Pat's and Newtown Blues. Always were a championship team over the years and have some fine young footballers.

1/4 final draw tomorrow night
