Mayo v Westmeath - Mayo were decent the last day, playing an athletic young team which suits the quick return to training and matches. Westmeath were unlucky not to get a result, so should be a good game - Mayo by 3

Down v Meath - Down showed glimpses of quality against Mayo but never looked like getting a result, they are a championship team and could be home games are more important this year. Meath did well to come out with a win, few players going well - Meath by 5

Laois v Cork - Both disappointed first day out, expected more from Cork. Laois were very lethargic against Clare. Both need to put in a performance - Cork by 6

Clare v Kildare - Both off to great starts, Impressive wins. Kildare got the goals which are vital. Clare had there shooting boots on to - Kildare by 2

Our showing against Westmeath is looking better than anyone thought during the week.
Shows just how competitive Leinster teams COULD be if we hadn't dubs in province

That's a deluded spin and you know it.
Lots new players are getting tried out by management at this stage the year.

The display between Monaghan and Donegal that I'm watching reminds me of what a Kerry man asked me a couple of years ago. "What's the difference between a mini and Micheal Murphy? A mini can only carry 4 players. Murphy carry's 14"

Not a great idea to make predictions on league games based on round one results. The League can flipflop previous week's results form at the best of time, never mind during a shortened league. Was it last year that Division 2, with one or two rounds left, some teams could have been relegated or promoted because games were hard to predict? Different agendas for different teams, some trying to win their division or avoid relegation, others looking to find their best championship squads by giving them a run out in the league games. Some teams further down the conditioning path but others to catch up with them by championship time. Let's just enjoy the unpredictability of it all. It's mighty to have hurling and football back.

Agree with that.
I know jack cooney. He's one hell of a manager and very nice guy. I do hope Westmeath remain in div 2 as they do deserve it. Two great performances for probably the advantage that both opponents had to win it in the end was playing div 1 football

Did murphy not go off injured early in the game?

That's my point. They fell apart after he went off. Fair play to them for getting the draw. But they can't be so reliant on Murphy that when he does go off they go to pieces. The Donegal defence was poor, now who thought over past decade we'd ever write that ?? That been said credit where it's due to come from 9 down and get a draw is some achievement without Murphy. Maybe these Kerry lads don't know it all :)

Bit hard on the rest of the donegal lads not to mention Monaghan. Granted donegal arnt as tight at the back as of late.

I actually enjoyed the game. Just my opinion. Might be wrong. Everyone has their own
