Galway Club Legend Retires

(Oldest Posts First)

Kieran Fitzgerald better known as Fitzy announced his retirement today in the Tuam Herald and as always as a measure of the individual involved a class statement. Will go down as one of the greatest if not greatest club footballers of all time in Galway and even nationally.
If this virus dissapears and there is a club championship he's still in great shape and wouldn't rule him out making a comeback.

There are very few in any county that will ever come close to what this guy has achieved.

I first saw in Tuam 1999, midfield with Bergin on the minor team.

It wasn't by accident, he gave serious commitment to go with the talent, hope he stays involved, would love to see him involved in a Galway underage set up down the line

A true club legend and a great servant and ambassador for Galway football. What a fantastic playing career and an example to younger players.

As well as been a great footballer, also a very nice friendly bloke. No swelled head, just down to earth. On a separate note.... Who's the ass giving the thumbs down. Some low life who likes hiding and playing with his keyboard
