Always felt Paddy McGrath was harshly overlooked. Not a "fancy" corner back but I doubt there's too many corner forwards about that look forward to being marked by him.

He's not a current player but I always considered Limerick's John Galvin to the the best player never to have got an All-Star. He went toe to toe with some of the best midfielders, including Dara O Se, and was never found wanting.

Great so see so many outside of Limerick remember Quane and Galvin.
They would make you belive you could be anyone when they played

John Quane was never nominated as far as I know. He was class, and had a stormer against Kerry in 1991 and again 13 years later in 2004. Just showed how good he was to last that long. Limerick mostly didn't even reach Muster finals during his time though so it was next to impossible to get noticed.

John Galvin as midlands mentioned, is probably better remembered. Limerick were competitive during his time and he deserved a few All Stars. I never saw him beaten in midfield and he regularly was up against the top teams in his time. 2010 was especially hard to understand. I believe Darragh O'Shea rated him as the best opponent he faced.

All they wanted, like any Limerick footballer, was 1 Munster medal. Galvin especially came agonisingly close on numerous years, wasn't to be thought. They just had no luck.

Patrick McBrearty.

Has played in 2 All Ireland finals, 5 Ulster Senior Titles, in purple patches has been as good as any inside forward in Ireland but as yet no All Star.

Had a shoe in All Star taken in 2018 by a bad injury in the Ulster Final and is still getting back to that level.

Drew and Ryan Wylie, both had fantastic seasons in 2018 but overall are so so consistent for Monaghan, think in 2018 championship Ryan's markers only scored 0-4 off him from play. He marked some of the best that year when we went through the back door.

But anyway Colm Cavanagh is a better full back seemly...

Wow, can't believe he doesn't have an All Star already. One of the best in the game without a doubt

Íl never forget Darragh catching the ball as it was going over the bar in the gaelic grounds in 2004, ye should have had us that day.

Quane was great to watch as was Galvin.

The left foot merchant. Too easy to shut down on the big days as he's to predictable. Quite easy for the top corner backs to mark. That's why he never got an all star.

McLoughlin really? Surprised at that one. A very clever player who has been operating at the business end of the championship for a decade.

Yeah Patrick was in the form of his life in 2018. Here's hoping he can get back to those levels again. In a weird way, for some players the current enforced break might not be a bad thing. e.g. for players like Kieran Gillespie, Mattie Donnelly, Cathal McShane etc
