I don't want to be jumping the gun and hopefully things will sort itself out sooner rather than later but if this covid-19 carries on for a while, to prevent a fixture back-log or to make sure we have some games for inter-county and club teams this season should the championships football and hurling be a straight knockout like in the 90's for 2020. Nobody will want this to happen but some contingency plans should be put in place if the next couple of months are affected so club's and inter-county competitions don't clash in a shorter season. It should definitely be in place as a plan B and same goes for county championships because personally I can't see any sport being played in April or May Breezy (Limerick) - Posts: 1236 - 15/03/2020 13:43:58 2273857 Link 0 |
Think it's a wait and see game. Put the All- Ireland finals back to early October where the weather is as good as for most league games this year.

If china is anything to go by then we should hopefully be through this by the time the championship begins, I wonder what will happen to the league's. Royal.Legend (Meath) - Posts: 665 - 15/03/2020 14:32:12 2273866 Link 0 |
The Chinese constructed 2 hospitals in under 2 weeks to try and keep it under control, in Wuhan. I doubt that would happen anywhere else FoolsGold (Cavan) - Posts: 2763 - 15/03/2020 14:58:55 2273868 Link 0 |
