Total lack of leadership from the GAA in not calling off this weekends games, playing of as many games as possible & greed put before public health. moc.dna (Galway) - Posts: 1212 - 12/03/2020 11:12:27 2273524 Link 1 |

You can have them without spectators - there is no ban on the games being played. The GAA however stands to lose a lot of revenue if they go ahead behind closed doors as this will not end on March 31st.

This is a national emergency no half measures here all GAA games, training and any other social events connected to the GAA should be cancelled indefinitely. This virus knows no boundaries. As for the Cheltenham punters returning they should all be told to self isolate absolute lunacy that went ahead this week Brendanj (Westmeath) - Posts: 67 - 12/03/2020 12:33:25 2273546 Link 1 |
Surely there is a responsibility to protect the players as well as the spectators? Anyway, I believe there is a statement due from GAA and Irish Rugby shortly so hopefully things will be clearer

Dublin GAA Board, having considered the statement issued by An Taoiseach Leo Varadkar this morning in relation to the Covid-19 pandemic, have decided to cancel all club games and training sessions under our auspices until after 29th March. fjones (Dublin) - Posts: 12 - 12/03/2020 12:40:18 2273549 Link 0 |
What players aren't at risk, players dont have people who are vulnerable in their family circle etc....if we stop now then we get a chance of savings lives (and possibly the championship albeit that is lower priority)....
