Replying To Lockjaw:  "Well the club championship is almost here. I wonder will there be any change to fixtures with the AI final replay on Saturday week? I was just on the website there and can see that there are a few fixtures penciled in for the Saturday evening:

St Michaels - Gaoth Dobhair
Dungloe - Glenties
Milford - Glenfin

My quarter finalist predictions are:

Gaoth Dobhair
Eunans
Glenties
Killybegs
Glenswilly
Glenfin
Kilcar
Bundoran"

Aye boy!

Would expect most of them teams to come through going on league form. But I would not be surprised if one or two didn't make it.

Who is your tip for glory this year?

I've seen all teams in action. Big gulf between the 4 top teams and the rest, some of whom are really struggling, the group games will have a few mismatches. Kilcar head and shoulders above everybody at present.

Including Gweedore? I get the sense that Gweedore have being targeting peaking later in the year this year.

Top 4 teams would be Kilcar, Gweedore, Glenties and St Eunans , Great County Final would be Kilcar and Gweedore ,and if Gweedore are pulling together like last year would expect them to come out on top

Lads is there any way the weekend fixtures can be posted in here on a Friday?

If a man gets afew hours on a Saturday evening or Sunday he'd be inclined to jump in the car and head to a game so would be good to have the fixtures and throw in time easily accessible. Cheers to anyone who can provide!

In my mind Gweedores to lose. Best all round team and with the winners having to play 6 games in seven weeks it's goin to suit a strong squad. If Kilcar keep everybody fit they have a chance. Outside those two st Eunans could be the dark horses if they get out of the group they'll be building momentum and will be a danger to any team.

On form & with full squads available Kilcar & Gaoith Dobhair are the form teams & a distance ahead of everyone else.

Kilcar's biggest challenge will be keeping everyone fit as their squad is not the biggest. Gaoith Dobhair's challenge will be keeping all the toys in the pram.

Hi panamasam:. Yes including Gweedore but as you say Gweedore could be looking for a later peak.

150km between Malin and Kilcar. Can anyone think of a comparable distance between any 2 clubs in any other county outside Donegal ???

Does draw keep them apart till the final if both progress? It will be some final if that is the case.

Tarbert to Tousist in Kerry is about 140km.

Very disappointing return to blanket defence in our showpiece Championship game yesterday in Gweedore. Why the need for this in a non knock out game is beyond me. The away team are entitled to do what they have to in order to get a result but surely the home side and defending champions have an obligation to come out and play ball.

The very annoying thing about it, is the home side have a number of high profile pundits in their ranks, who are quite forthright in their views on major intercounty games and you would regularly hear from them the phrase ' let the handbrake off and play'... yet when its their own team, they tuck the tail between the legs and do exactly as a rent a coach tells them. I hope we dont hear those boys lambast negative play again.

Is Michael Boyle involved with Gaoth Dobhair this year?

Hi ManusFromHeaven:. Very true, the Ulster club champions seemed fear struck. St Eunans came with the Rory G plan, I thought everyone had that well sussed by now, seems not. Easy victory for Naomh Conaill but appear to have a few injuries in the camp. Nothing observed from those 3 teams in first round to even trouble Kilcar in the slightest. In other news, spare a thought for poor Dungloe, they knew about Gallen since March and still couldn't stop him scoring 2-8 from play. Jesus wept!
