Keegan Cup 2019

Well done to Ratoath today. Their great potential and was realised at last. In the past I have been critical of them for not delivering on that potential, it now seems so long ago that you coughed up a decent lead to a struggling St Pats, it's was probably such reversals that made you the team that you have become. Beat Garrycastle please.

Replying To David:  "Well done Ratoath today. Lets hope they can do the county proud in Leinster.

Hard luck to Summerhill & particularly losing both Minor & Senior finals."
Commiserations to Summerhill. Losing three in a row is tough.

Well done to Ratoath - We should all get behind them now In Leinster club.

Ratoath were brilliant today! A goal down within a minute and crazy goal at the end - they were by far the better team! And the program would suggest they are very young!
Apart from that - McMahon was immense in the full forward line and joey Wallace was unmarkable

Mcentee should have both in his full forward line!.

Lost for words really, as a Ratoath man emotions are running really high, for many years I thought this day would never come but here we are. Drove down from Donegal really thinking we could win but never imagined winning in the fashion we did. My heart genuinely goes out to Summerhill, a fine team who I believe will see their day but it just wasn't to be today Ratoath were, thankfully from my view, the better team and hopefully they will give Leinster a good crack. To have a photo taken with the Keegan cup, original or not, in the clubhouse of Ratoath tonight is a memory that will last me the rest of my days and that's something special, tomorrow is another day.......

6 winners this decade and 4 different winners the last 5 years. 2 of them winning their first ever title. Ultra competitive club scene. I wouldn't be surprised if the likes of NA Fianna, Gael Colmcille and St Colmcille get their name on it the next decade.

Ratoath were top class yesterday- what a year for them! They went from strength to strength through the year and when they had all their lads back they looked untouchable. Their young lads are the real deal - Wyer and Brazil at the back are only teenagers! What a future the club has

Brian power was two rows in front of me in the Stand - could easily have been on the pitch! Their Ben h was so much better than the Hills - if they can keep all the players happy they could be the top team for a while

They will probably lose a few lads to the county in the new year and that might hurt them!

On another note Barry Dardis looked good yesterday - gave Mcgill a fair run! He has to come into Mcentees plans!

Pinching myself. Couldn't be happier for the team and the management. They've well and truly proved all the doubters wrong.
Delighted for so many people in the club too for the sheer amount of work they've put in for decades. Also delighted for our club president (who's in his 90s I think) who never thought he'd see this day. The players did the whole club proud yesterday.

Hard luck to Summerhill. Didn't happen for them on the day and they probably got their tactics wrong, but it goes without saying that they will be back next year.

Well done Ratoath but come on you don't 'lose' players to the county!
That is a very insular attitude already immediately after the first (but probably not last) win.
Maybe not meant as it read to me but it's an attitude I haven't seen from other county champions.

Well done Ratoath. Got stronger as championship went on. Things really coming together for club with all adult teams putting down a marker this year.

no - didn't mean it as a negative. more that they could be without several for the league etc. in some ways not a bad thing as it means they can give their lads on the bench meaningful football. i know 2 years ago they had 7 lads on the county panel for the entire league. but with their second string doing well too they probably will bee okay

They were without a lot of their players at the start of this year and even in their 2 rounds of the championships so they should be well able to cope if a few go in with the county team.

Will be interesting to see how they do against Garrycastle, Ratoath have serious forwards but will be interesting if they come up against a team that will set up with 12 or 13 behind the ball and look to frustrate them. Hopefully they do well, would be great to see Meath clubs start doing well in Leinster.

Such a poor turn out for a county final. You would have thought Ratoath would have brought more fans to their first county final than that.

That's fair enough, I do hope Joey comes back in. He was like a lamb to the slaughter originally and might have got his fill of it.

Agree with you! Think that is a danger of pushing lads too soon! Hope we manage the likes of Conlon and Walsh well! I was surprised to read Joey is only 23!

I see that now you can't say that we haven't won anything that matters (Ha!) you've moved onto the next ridiculous thing you can criticise Ratoath for.

Only one 4000 people at is very poor for a county like Meath.

400 of them were Cilles, another 2000 were neutrals and Summerhill were well represented so it is a poor show

Keep going lads. It must absolutely kill you both to have to admit that Ratoath are the best team in Meath.
Most people are congratulatory, but you can't even manage that, can you?

Who said there was only 4000?
The Stand was packed and the terrace on the far side had a decent crowd in it! I ended up sitting on a concrete seat right behind the dugout! Couldn't get a seat higher up!

To be fair, what was the point in going to a game that had a foregone conclusion. I didnt even bother going myself, as I wanted to be outside the bookies at the final whistle.
There was a lot of pallets and tyres to be gathered up, for the home coming.
It's not like it won't be happening again and again and again over the next few years.
KEEP HATING!!!
