Mayo V Meath

People at games haven't a notion of what a black card is either. Tired of explaining to people sitting beside me going bananas why the ref gave a yellow.

Yes it is. The worst team in semis. By some distance.

I think the Boyle one should have been red. Cowardly act.

For what? He actually got his hands on the ball. A bit reckless but no more than a yellow. A Meath player got away with a very late hit on Boyle in the 1st half.

Boyle - much like O'Connor - gets away with a lot. Agree with previous comment...

It's not a question of being cynical. Neither were black cards and that's the reality.

Was fortunate to attend this with friends from Meath. Meath were no way 9 points worse on the day. Id argue Meath have one of the best FB lines in the country. Meaths problem is a lack of quality forwards and a lack of strength in depth and id fear for them in division 1.
Mayo are a busted flush, Donegal are a far superior team and will put the final nail in their season in Castlebar.

That wasn't a black card either. Refs were under far more pressure back then to hand them out. A bit of common sense is prevailing, not every foul is a black card.

Well. That would be a lie. I'd say the ball was over the bar by the time Boyle reached him. Very reckless tackle. Added to his second indiscretion later on he was lucky to be on the pitch at the end.

For late hit on Conlon after he put the ball over the bar. Cut across the back of his legs with no intent to get anywhere near the ball. Then lay down as if he was injured. Conlon gave him a mouthful.

It wasn't the incident with Conlon the Mayo lad was referencing.

I think this is the reason so many neutrals have no sympathy for Mayo over the years, the antics of Boyle,Keegan, O'Connnor O'Shea etc just turned so many neutrals away from them, that 'tackle' by Boyle the last day, Keegan throwing the GPS etc just shows what they are about really.

What do you classify as successful?

Mayo were too soft for years and being the loveable losers has done F all for us down the years. That said I travel a lot and people generally have great things to say to me about Mayo football....unless they are just too polite to tell me what they really think...;)

Conlon should have been booked for his mouthing at an opponent. Boyle's timing was off as is your's.

I don't think that is true nor do I think that is what he means

I actually don't think he knows how to articulate what he is saying.

He has stated that Tyrone are the worst team in the semi finals but that doesn't mean they are not successful.
