Dublin V Cork Super 8S

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Cork played well. However, we lost heavily. I suspect we'll give it a go and lose next week too. Tyrone will be hot favourites. At the end of the day, we are patting ourselves on the back when we lose. We were relegated to Division 3 and only reached this stage because we got a very fortunate draw. That is not negative. It is a fact. Monaghan, Galway, Cavan, Armagh, Kildare would love to have played Limerick and Laois. Cork's most important match is not next Saturday but next February. If we want to genuinely compete for all Irelands, we need to be in Division one. First we must get out of Division 3. We certainly have the ability to do this. It is a must. Posts on here were a lot different at the start of the decade when we were one of the best teams around. Now, it is is just patronising ould guff.

Very hard to see Dublin not doing 5 in a row. Even when they don't play well they just kill teams in the last 10/ 15 mins with fitness/ quality bench. Late in games their opponents always get over run because of this.

Until all Ireland final, the gaa hierachy have destroyed football by funding the dublin monster, a professional team with home advantage playing amateurs! No wonder only 35000 turned up sure why couldn't they have played this in parc i
Cuimh? It holds 45000, o hold on dont ask the poor dubs to travel"

That's an excellent question, how are dublin fitter than every other team?

I mean every team are killing them selves at training week in week out yet no one can match their fitness.

Agree with that. Cork still did very well yesterday u can't take that away from them. Tyrone could be in for a horrible game next week

Is that the best you can come up with? If Cork had brought even 10K to Croker then the attendance would have been double the Mayo game. Does that sound better?

I saw your post and was interested to see if there was a free out and a push as you said. I didn't see a foul on the day and was right behind it. I had the game recorded and I watched it back.

Genuinely didn't see any foul, Con physically got the better of his man and not one mention of a possible foul by any of the commentators and that includes the goal being shown in analysis. Zero mention. I watched it a couple of times myself and honestly no foul. Not even a hint of one.

I respectfully disagree. No foul there at all.

Im sure the game is on YouTube if you're bothered to have a look.

Imagine that, having a pop at Mayo! And others having a pop at the poor Dubs! Both playing the victim! You can't win!

Dubs up at 4 each morning, down to Dollymount for laps of the beach while Kerry men lay in slumber dreaming of Sams now out of reach.

Ok so now it's our fitness , nothing to do with the keeper kicking the ball straight to Small and Kilkenny getting a goal and totally deflating the Cork challenge? Kingdomboy when you have better players and our winning it always looks like you've the fitter players in any game.

Fitness and skill in fairness. That pass from Jack and that finish from Fento were sublime pieces of skill in fairness. But yes this team trains extremely hard and is in peak condition but I believe that Tyrone and Donegal are equally fit from what I've seen.

I was merely responding to an intentionally antagonist post by sending one of my own.

What sort of post it that above? Classy? lol

As usual the big bad Dub at play wha...

I merely responded at a similar pig ignorant level for a laugh. It's calledd give and take.

I know you Galway lads might be a bit touchy about the whole "Going out in June" thing ;)

No wonder you're we bit sensitive regarding my comment wha...

They are fitter because they are better, more natural footballers, wonderful supporters who never jeer a penalty taker. or boo the opponents' wides. They get no funding, had the generosity and good sense to refuse state aid and passed it on to the neglected regions - how could anyone not love the Dubs - they even reduced the crowds coming to Croker in case a full stadium would be too intimidating for the opposition. Baile Átha Cliath abúuub!

Try the narcotics angle it's an avenue you haven't explored yet. You have exhausted paying the refs, players being paid big bucks, a personal s&c coach for every panel player. Maybe they each have a personal tailored fitness program and dietry regime and like the Stepford wife's they stick to it. Maybe they are just natural athletes and they fitter than Cork? But would a shocking conclusion on your part right? Keep on digging I am sure you will unearth another conspiracy. Meanwhile in the real world I am sure Tyrone will match them for fitness.

It's not a 15 man game

That's why we're fitter

Superior panel of players

To say that someone or something is "incredible" means that he is quite literally unbelieveable.

Jack is a super player but unbelieveable? I think not.

Is this the next thing up why are Dublin fitter? What are u suggesting here? Only hard work pal no Brendan O'Sullivan short cuts or cover ups? How that was allowed to slide still beggars belief. Tip of the iceberg in kingdom..
