You don't think Kilkenny might have something to say about it?

There are no easy all irelands. Ask any of your excellent team of 2004-5.

Cork have a bit of baggage from big games now to overcome.

Why are these threads filled with arrogant boll*xes from every county?

Just a quick question for you MillerX, and I dont by any account mean to sound arrogant here. But whats your basis for the argument that Laois are capable of beating Dublin? Again dont mean to sound cocky, was just wondering. Personally cant see it meself.."
Don't take this the wrong way - but Laois traditionally don't have the same awe of Dublin that we would of say Galway, Waterford or Cork etc.
The game is in Portlaoise - and I don't think Eddie Brennan will hold too much fear in his head of the Dubs - in fact he will see it as a best case scenario for a scalp.

Dublin should have too much experience for Laois - but I think the terms of the game could be more balanced than many will think.

No offence taken. And completely understand were your coming from. Traditionally Laois wouldn't fear Dublin as much as they'd fear lets say Galway for instance.

But although they may not fear Dublin, I still think there is a gulf in class and cant see anything other than a comfortable Dublin win...

You were having a laugh at Westmeath and Laois.. we're still in the championship. You exited a few weeks back.

Hence Galway exited in Leinster..try and keep up ;)"
You misread my response to the cute Corkman, who was being facetious about Westmeath. I'd never laugh at the underdog, I'd always support Laois, Westmeath or any other county that needs a break. The best of luck against the Dubs! Laois played some great hurling yesterday - that game should have been televised.

I'll keep up alright. Galway were never in Leinster. They play in the Leinster Hurling Championship for a certain reason, of which you're aware! Sure we're always helpful, e.g the Dublin hurling manager, the Roscommon football manager! lol

Congrats Laois. Is your match against the dubs being televised?

The problem for Laois is to recover after the celebrations of winning in Croke Park.

A week isn't enough to prepare for the jump in class after a celebration.

Carlow found it difficult last year and it may be Westmeath that puts up a better show against Cork.

May seem strange but Westmeath won't have been celebrating all week and will want a better display.

Well done to Leix by the way, Brennan has done a great job with them.

Did you ever hear of a depression session?
It will be great to see the likes of Patrick Horgan and Mark Coleman in Cusack Park no matter the outcome. Westmeath will need to lift the performance big time to even keep it within 10 points.

I wonder if these games might be shown on GAANow? Apart from the final, they showed the last few rounds of the Joe McDonagh cup. They don't have their schedule on their website, so its hard to tell at this stage. Hopefully they will.

Great shame. Hopefully it will be streamed online somewhere.
Laois were impressive on Sunday. They played with structure, confidence and no little skill. Be interesting to see how they cope with the increased intensity.

The handicap is 15 points but Westmeath are always competitive in Mullingar.

Its great for Laois, they have some really nice hurlers and played really well on Sunday, it was great to see and they brought a sizeable support and sunday also.

But its a disgrace how the GAA treat their secondary hurling teams, Laois win a title in Croke Park and a re given a week to prepare against a top team who know have a few weeks break. They dont even give Laois hurlers an opportunity to celebrate which they rightly should imho.
