Offaly V Laois

(Oldest Posts First)

A first championship game between these two Leinster counties since 2006 when the Faithful County last reached the Leinster final. It's unusual for two counties from the same province not to have met in so long.

We met Laois away in a qualifier in 2006, the last time Offaly reached a Leinster Final, losing to Dublin.
Laois won well, Offaly hardly competed that day.
That is in the past, Offaly's attitude is different now. Laois are just a bit ahead of Offaly at the moment, and I believe they might win by a few points tomorrow night. I will be there supporting Offaly, hoping for a win.

I fancy us to come through this. Laois were the better team in oconnor park in the league but we looked unbelievably leggy that day and still weren't far off getting something. A high ball in killed us if I remember correctly. We've improved dramatically since then.

Our shape has changed since that day too so I fancy a combination of a slight tweaking of the tactics coupled with the lads having a bit more momentum and fitness to see us through.

Looking forward to it now. Hard to believe we could have one of cork/galway/cavan for a punt at the 8s

Unless the game is set for Maryborough instead of Portlaoise...I think we will stick with Laois V Offaly! The O Moore's Vs the O Connors if you really wish!

9/4 odds on offer for Offaly are tempting.

I've kildare and offaly at 21/2 as a double. Very very decent odds.

Hopefully both teams manage more than a point in the regulation 35 min in the second half.

There was a 10 minute delay to throw in so must be a big crowd

0/10 trolling effort. All your exclamation marks.. scraping the barrell. You need to have a look at other posters who show some wit. Then again I think you just don't have it.

Great win again, fair play to Sugrue and the lads.

Some great individual performances, Kingston brothers kicked 10 points between them, but we looked the more well drilled team throughout.

Again, not as clinical as we should've been, like the Meath game we missed some easy points and a couple of good goal chances, but great to get the win!

Hopefully the hurlers will lift a bit of silver wear in Croker today to put the icing on top!

Dublin and Laois the only counties left that can lift Sam & Liam!
