Mayo V Armagh

The news of Diarmuid O Connors injury blows this side open.

It promises to be a fascinating battle between these two.

The question is are Armagh ready to beat Mayo?

Don't know what kind of training that they are doing down in Mayo .
All self inflicted...again.....

Too many of there best players are missing now for them to have any say this year.
Big opportunity for Armagh.

No. Armagh are too open at the back. We are OK going forward. Armagh are too reliant on the Cross lads to work some magic. We failed to beat an average Cavan team and finished off a Monaghan team who were teetering on the edge of self implosion.
I believe it will be a great game as Mayo are an attacking team like us. We are a bit naive in closing games. Maybe Mayo are a bit similar in that regard. But Mayo have a lot more experience of big games than us. I expect Mayo to play better than they did against Down as they improve along the qualifier route. I think they will win by about 6 points. 2-18 to 1-15 is my prediction.

Still think Mayo will see out this game. Their injury list is growing especially around the middle which is worrying but maybe it will force Horan to give the younger lads a chance? Where is Cillian lads? I saw something on twitter where he wasn't even named amongst the injured lads. Granted twitter is a cesspit but still you would have expected him back at thos stage no?

No idea what the real story is with Cillian. A month ago he was a week away from being fit, last week he was pushing for a place next weekend and now there is no mention at all of his return. Of course where there is a lack of information there will be rumours but it is worrying from a Mayo perspective as he is a huge loss to us. The last couple of years haven't been kind to us injury wise and to lose two of our most energetic players in a couple of weeks is something we will struggle to recover from. Running out of options in midfield even though Seamie and Donnie Vaughan may be able to play some part against Armagh. The super eights seem a long way away now but we have only ourselves to blame for losing to the Ros. Armagh plus a lot of other strong teams left so there's no place to hide at this stage.

Why are ye smashing each other up on a week that should be all about recovery .

Smashed eye sockets, broken wrists at training, especially in a week that should all be about recovery
dead silence to the media about certain players when it's clear something's up with him.

Think ill be putting a cheeky score on Armagh here at 11/4.

Some very good players in that Armagh team and some young ones coming in to their own, Jarleth OG has been one of the best players of the championship for me so far.

With Mayos injuries, this one looks in the melter.

For all the whinging about Mayos injuries it appears Armagh will be missing Grimley, Murnin and Morgan.
All massive losses

Any truth in the rumours that himself and Horan have had a big bust up??

Mayo were missing Ger Cafferkey, Donal Vaughan, Mattie Ruane, Seamus O'Shea, Tom Parsons, James Carr and Cillian O'Connor last week to injury. Not sure will any of them be game fit this week some of them might have trained during the week. Diarmuid O'Connor now joins the list.

Yeah, Sky are showing both.

Anyone think it at all funny that Sky swapped the option of a qualifier in the last round for 2 this round and the 4 big teams in the draw got each other??

No.
Armagh are decent but Mayo are a seasoned Division 1 team and at home.
Mayo by at least 4.

Armagh v Monaghan is a big as Mayo v Armagh think it was just due to the provincial Munster final on.
