Hard luck Kilkenny. But today Wex just about got over the line. Kilkenny needed a goal and they did not get it. Mark Fanning did. Man of the match imho.

Just about... Wexford were the better team, without TJ Reid Kilkenny are struggling but as usual Wexford get no credit for just play better.

It was a fairly even match up. Not a lot between the 2 teams. Wexford had some great interplay, a lá Joe Canning. I am glad they won. It is good for the game and the GAA in Loch Garman. That said the GAA should start looking at 2 refs for hurling, one in each half. Or maybe having a different ref for each half change at half time.

Made that point about 2 refs earlier in the year. Especially when the sliotar can travel the length of the field in a couple of seconds. Great win today really overjoyed!! And great to see the minors bridge a 34 year gap too! The last time we won a Leinster minor title those players made a huge contribution to the senior success in the mid 90s

I think we were the better team in general play against them the last 3 years now! Long time since that could be said!

Kilkenny were well into the two figures in the wides count to Wexfords three, made some extremely poor decisions during the game and should have had Wexford finished off well before the final whistle. As for the decision making after the Wexford goal went in, I don't know what Kilkenny were thinking. Enjoy the victory, but Kilkenny blew that game

Super win for Wexford. Great scenes, lovely to see.

Hats off to Davy Fitz. He has brought Wexford along way in such a short period.

a lot of those wexford lads have come up through the under age ranks
and have been successful in leinster at u21 no fear of killkenny
they seem to be able to get the better of them nowadays
rory o connor has the xfactor for sure
in saying all that Kilkenny have gone back a lot
when tj reid is gone there in big trouble

Kilkenny have gone back and TJ will be 32 in November.Positives for the Cats are Huw Lawlor who was superb at full back and Adrian Mullen looks a class player with a big future ahead of him.Well done to Wexford and their great supporters.Hard to believe they hadn't won a senior Leinster hurling title for 15 years because they have a great tradition and have produced some of the finest players in the History of the game such as the Rackards and Nick O'Donnell.

Is it possible for Kilkenny to just be beaten by a better team on the day?

Congrats to Wexford. The cats are a pale shadow of their illustrious past. Going forward for now all teams require to do is take care of TJ and don't concede frees. It was an exciting contest but Limerick would open up either like a can opener. Tipp would probable out muscle either. However I will be rooting for Wexford to get to the final and then see what happens. Davy has pulled a bunny out of the hat before.

How many times have these stats been reversed with wexford having 16,17,18 wides and getting bet by a very efficient kk team with wides in single digits.
You make bad decisions when your under pressure.
Having it reversed with a win feels good.

Exactly, Wexford were just better than Kilkenny today. Also even though they didn't win, they were also the better side in the 3 games they drew in the round robin. They are now the only unbeaten side left in the championship (along with Laois) which is some going.

I'm delighted for Davy, this was make or break year and he has delivered. Maybe it something to do with the previous management too, but he has brought Wexford from also rans even in Leinster championship to genuine All-Ireland contenders in 3 years which is unreal. With what he done with Clare, Waterford and now Wexford, I hope he will be finally recognised as a great manager which is what he deserves.

Rubbish, Wexford and Kilkenny provided 2 best games of the championship, your post is the dilluisinal Munster rubbish on this forum.

Every1 has been saying how well Huw Lawlor played and he did come out with alot of ball but Conor Mac still scored 4 points from play off him?
