Posters Crossing The Line

Replying To MesAmis:  "This thread has crossed a line.

When I read the opening post I thought someone was after saying something really bad!

Then it turns out it was a clearly lighthearted post that in no way crossed any line or slagged off any player at all. You'd have to wonder about anyone getting offended by that post. Something clearly not right with them if they can't understand a lighthearted satirical post."
They must live a very sheltered life alright to find outrage in that or is it the world we live In now?

Careful there, no real names. It's Danny Clifden.

I posted on here last year about a game (minor I think it was) where a team were going for a goal at end of a game and ran the whole way through to edge of the square, corner forward made the overlap, begging for the pass, player with the ball tried to shoot and got blocked down/lost possession or whatever...they lost the match, a few came on here and were not happy as player was minor etc...I didn't identify the player (most knew the incident of the game concerned) but my title was "selfish players"...just to repeat, my post was not individual to that player intentionally, it was highlighting selfish players....infact more insult was caused I would say from some of the replies with some saying "if I ran from MF with a ball I wouldn't pass to some donk*y who would probably miss etc. etc...that was worse than calling a player selfish, but such is life, no one was too bothered about team mates being belittled as not capable of finishing the move etc...anyay..nothing personal meant, and that's the way it should be on here...

Replying To greysoil:  "Have noticed an emerging unsavoury tone by some posters of late. Indeed, what is surprising is the posts that are being generated by users that would have appeared level headed before. There is no place for personal slights on players or indirectly on their families. Important to remember that these are amateurs giving a big chunk of their time to their counties & for our entertainment. Keep the slagging general. We never know the impact of flippant commentary.

Madge great to hear from you & so excited for you! Must be like the eve of an all Ireland final for you over there. If only RTE would have an 'up for the match' for supporters like you on occasions like this it would be great. With all our injury woes, this is probably Cavan's to lose - well that's as long as McLoughlin doesn't bottle it like he did back a few years ago - his jumping out of the way of Hughes was a game changer when we looked like we were in serious trouble. And I have something similar at the back of my mind for Moynagh in 2015.
Anyway enjoy the big occasion with the big boys coming to town!

The post in question is hilarious and hats off to whoever wrote it. A great laugh. I pity anyone who finds that offensive, remember, offence is taken, never given.

I hope Cavan haven't missed their chance last Sunday. Anyway, best of luck on Sunday, it would be great to see Cavan in an Uster final. No disrespect to Armagh.

Correct! I had an issue myself last week when a certain poster took offence to a comment I posted in jest about Mayo's misfiring forwards.

If any post was in any way out of order, you'd have to trust that admin wouldn't let it on in the first place.

We're all totally forgetting the point the original post was trying to make.....how is the appeal going for Kerry GAA? Has this "controversy" helped our hindered their quest for donations?

Hilarious is going a bit far. Mildly amusing perhaps.

Its not Frankie Boyle (Hilarious and Offensive) on either front.

All I will say is if anyone thinks that is offensive then they better not read what I post (any of it) should Meath and dubs meet in a Leinster final. And probably vice versa . So to spare anyone's feelings DO NOT READ ANYTHING ABOUT MEATH AND DUBLIN. Should it come to pass as their is no guarantees in life.

It's almost impossible not to read anything on here about Dublin. As for Meath... who really cares? No offence intended.

I was a specifically speaking about a thread that will be set up should both counties meet, didn't think I had to explain that. (No offense)

I welcome the slagging as you will yourself, you can take and give it back as good to be fair.
