Fantastic goalkeeper. Has been one of Dublins best players for a long time now and was a big part of the genesis of this all conquering team.

Like most ive never cheered for Dublin but if they do manage the 5 in a row which I hopethey dont Cluxton will be the one man on the pitch I will be truely happy for. An absolute legend of a player

100 championship games is some achievement clon.

I take it that 95/96 of those games were played at home and 4/5 away?

Ah jaysus boy you're scraping the barrel now with your jibes, seriously though, what do you actually think of him?

Cluxton doesn't have a head for heights?

He must have clocked some height walking up all those many steps over and over again lifting all that precious silverware as Dublin captain no?

The chap is so acclimatized to such great lofty heights he could climb Everest without oxygen at this stage...

Fantastic servant to Dublin over the years and what an incredible milestone to hit. The biggest thing for me is his ability to remain at the top of his trade over such a long time. He's 37 now and still firmly in the debate for being the best GK around and arguably still is the best despite valid arguments for Beggan. Talk of his weakness under the high ball I think is a bit exaggerated but look every keeper has a flaw or two. It is doubtful that we will ever see his kind again and he will be leaving extremely big shoes to fill.

It wasn't a jibe at all realdub I was just wondering and trying to get the stats is all.

My thoughts on cluxton are as follows, he's not the best keeper I've seen but is the best kicker in the game at the moment but beggan could take over that mantle very soon.

Unfortunately for Beggan, that team seems to be crumbling around him.

That's true realdub. Monaghan look a tired team this year, but maybe they're keeping their powder dry for July.

If Monaghan and Mayo reach the 8s they'll be a problem for anyone I'd say.

What I particularly admire about Cluxton is the way he has developed over the years. I remember back in 03 against Armagh in the qualifiers. He got sent off and I thought he's just a head case. A very talented goalkeeper, but a loose cannon who could be a liability for his team. He has definitely matured into one of the modern greats. No doubt about that.

Absolutely, once they can avoid eachother in the qualifiers, Mayo wouldn't fancy going to clones and vise versa Monaghan wouldn't like heading to castlebar, throw a Donegal or Tyrone and Roscommon or Galway into that mix as well and rounds 3/4 could be classic.

Best keeper ever, his class has been talked about here on multiple threads, literally multiple threads. These posts are for 12 year old fanboys, hilarious stuff.

So Kingdomboy who is the best keeper you've seen and what in your opinion makes him a better keeper than Clucko! I'd say if Clucko played for anyone other than Dublin you'd give him the recognition he deserves but you can't bring yourself to do that because of who he plays for and the fact we've regularly over the last few years put Kerry in their place as we will this year should Kerry make it that far! I don't think anyone takes you seriously anyway i think you've become a bit of a joke figure on HS much like your fellow County man Pat Spillane on various platforms!

So you think there has been no goal keeper in the 134 year history of the GAA to compare with cluxton ? Man you need to get out more.

John O'Leary Paddy Cullen ? Charlie Nelligan pascal McConnell Diarmuid Murphy .

I gaurentee you if you try to match cluxtons stats to Diarmuid Murphys stats they'll only be one winner and that Diarmuid Murphy.

Murphy played in goals for Kerry for 6 years getting to 6 allireland finals winning 4, also won 3 national leagues titles 4 Munster titles and 3 allstars.

All that in 6 years at intercounty football.

There is more to goal keeping than kicking out the football.

Great servant to Dublin Gaa, he's almost 20 years playing intercounty, that takes huge commitment no matter what way you look at it. Well done to him.
