Yeah put it into developing children across the rest of the counties. It's a fact that Dublin GAA kids playing receive more money per head then other counties especially in Leinster. Why?

That's not a fact that more is spent on a Dublin child than other counties. It's incredibly difficult to know how much is spent on coaching development in counties outside of Dublin as GDOs are paid by the Provincial councils in every other county outside of Dublin. Even if they are getting more. Dublin GAA formulated the plan and have ensured that they put up half the money themselves. The money is spent on GDOs that are needed to organise the sheer number of young players that need to be catered for. There is not the same need in other county for the same amount of human capital to be employed for games development. Human capital is expensive, you have to employ someone a living wage in Dublin. How many GAA underage coaches do the GAA employee in each Leinster county. Now compare that to Dublin. If you think the playing field is going to even up in the next 10 years it won't. So instead of taxing Dublins Sponsorship money like someone suggested why not put these funds towards underage coaching around Leinster. I know they are employed by Dublin but there is a huge number of them and half the funds come from the GAA. Every Dublin club and school is covered or at least close to it. Why in this era of Dublin dominating their province are the GAA putting funds towards that. Any other Leinster county has a handful. Meath do anyway. Most schools and clubs are not covered. There is an imbalance right from the top to the bottom. It certainly explains results over the last few years and why it won't change. So facts can't be facts unless they can be found on the internet. Ok. Waste of time engaging on this topic on here with dubs or their Antrim cheerleader. Greenfield (Meath) - Posts: 522 - 19/05/2019 22:15:03 2185673 Link 0 |
Not a waste of time engaging with me. I'd just like a better reason to defund a project that benefits tens of thousands of children a year than Dublin are good now. Are you going to put those current GDOs out of a job, the GAA actually can't do that. They are ALREADY now diverting more funds to other high population areas. If it were any other sports association getting the number of youngsters playing their games as successfully as the GAA their membership would be ecstatic by it. It's a quirk of the GAA that we have the county system as the top level of our sport and petty rivalry and bitterness is fogging up something that should be incredibly positive. There's going to be over 15k children born in Dublin this year, I want as many of them playing Gaelic games as possible. Whammo86 (Antrim) - Posts: 4241 - 20/05/2019 07:02:59 2185729 Link 3 |
