Being announced tomorrow at 12pm, will be very interesting to see what has been picked. Will the ratio between Football and Hurling be favoured towards Hurling due to the demand and popularity from last year? Hopefully they cop on from last year and try and have Football on before Hurling. The Sunday Game (highlights) better improve from previous years and cover more games and topics.

There is more hurling matches then ever before with the current format, that's why there is more hurling matches bring shown live, at the end there is probably still more football shown

Thanks rte for denying a third party to stream the ny v mayo game.....bloody shambles with hundreds of mayo fans likely not to gain entry in the Bronx it would have been an ideal compromise to show the game in local bars and even for everyone back home....

Shambolic coverage of the championships its a pity there is not another station in the country who could put it up to RTE for GAA. The sooner the better Virgin Media get a share of the GAA pie. If you want to watch football we may get up off ours arses and go out to the games. Because all we will see on RTE is 30 seconds of most games in the highlights show where grown men are shown talking rot more than showing clips from games that were not shown live.

Any word on whether the BBC will be able to show more live games this year? It is my understanding that they were prevented from showing live games from Ulster if RTE were showing any GAA action at the same time unless it was the same Ulster game.

What potential big games are being missed out on? Its hard to please everyone.
I'd much rather watch a Munster hurling match than an early round provincial football match. Hard please everybody.

I see there's nine Munster senior games in total being shown and the Dubs (All-Ireland football champions) won't be on until June 23rd at the earliest.

And just one Round 4 qualifier as well?

They've a mighty pick!

I think Yew has a fair point because he's talking about a lot of Mayo fans who will travel to New York but won't get in to the game. Periscope could be a low quality option if you cast it to a big screen somehow.

Biggest problem is new hurling format and super 8 in football mean more games but no increase in live games on rte to reflect this

Virgin Media aren't interested in GAA. Rugby and Champions League are all they're interested in.

And I'd rather watch any football match over a hurling one, at the end of the day football is still more popular then hurling only one football game shown live before the provincial finals is a joke.

Provincial hurling championships are as good as they've ever been and in Munster far and away the best competition. Very few early season football games will come close this this. Come super 8s we will have loads of top quality football games. It will be interesting to see the televised hurling v football split by the end of the year. People will make mountains out of this initial announcement but for me it will even out and we should have a season of top quality games on tv and I'm delighted with that
