Would have said there was significantly more there and i was there myself, seems like a bit of an after thought "offical" attendance. I thought the stadium announcer said 9 someting k on the day, but i wasnt really minding to be honest and was a bit muffled etc.

I'd say they were up until last weekend when the bad weather definitely hit crowds. I'd say Clare and Limerick would have nearly filled Ennis on a good day. 8,409 was fantastic given the conditions. Kerry Monaghan bringing 6,500 was super as well. Hard to judge one league against another. The weather is definitely a factor. A few weekends like last weekend could have a big impact on overall crowds. Of course the experts would conveniently ignore that and just look at the stats and blame it on the standard of football!

Some crowd at Meath v Kildare despite the bad weather.

Does anyone know where I can get the attendances of the Croke Park double header of Division 3 final and division 4 final for the past few years? Hoganstand.com's results archive doesn't have them; Wikipedia doesn't have them; the couple of reports I've seen linked to on the Wikipedia pages don't have them. Thanks.

Thanks. I did see attendances of 5,823 for 2017 and a "deplorable" 8,654 ("there was certainly less than half that in the Hogan Stand for the opener. Poor") in 2014 as reported by the Irish Examiner, relayed in turn by tipperary.gaa.ie.

Waterford Galway 3,371
Cork Tipp 3,681
Wexford Kilkenny 6,000
Limerick Laois 4,800 (mostly Limerick)

Tiny attendance of only a few hundred at Offaly Carlow, surprised at this with how Carlow are going. Sure they lost last week but it was all to play for there, effectively proving they are worthy of their place in the McCarthy Cup.

Small attendances over all, especially for Cork vs Tipp. Shocking weather and the 6 nations definitely played a part in this.

Yeah corks attendances seem to be poor. Will the bandwagon get going when the rugby is over and the sun comes out for championship?

I don't know to be honest. Small crowd at the Clare game in Pairc Ui Rinn too. Usually Cork have 7 to 10k depending on the opposition. The lack of relegation seems to have diluted the league a bit. I wonder would there have been many more there if the rugby wasn't on. Not a huge amount I'd say given the conditions. The weather was shocking. The 2 home performances up to this (Wexford and Clare) were very poor so as well. They beat Clare but definitely didn't look the better team. 15 placed balls and a bit of luck got them the win. There has been little to excite Cork fans in this league. I'd say a lot decide it just wasn't worth getting soaked and half frozen for. I was tempted to give it a miss myself but went in the end.

I'd say there was at least 2k missing from that Galway Waterford game because of the fact that it was a postponed game. There were loads of people from Galway (myself included) who made the long journey for the postponed game who didnt travel the second day

I reckon Cork will be back in a big way come summer. There has been a bit of a backlash to the county board recently. A lot are disgusted that Pairc Ui Chaoimh is not being used too. I expect big big crowds at both the Tipp and Waterford games come summer, with the latter being played on a Saturday night. They should both be great occasions! Bring it on!

1,400 Meath v Clare
18,000 for club finals. Poor.
20,000 Dublin v Tyrone
10,000+ Mayo v Kerry
3,500 Tipp v Dublin

Waterford Clare 2,753
Galway v Wex / Galway v Ros 7,643
Kilkenny Cork little over 1,000 according to the examiner, meaning less game I suppose

Massive crowds in the league at the start that tailed off near the end particularly in hurling where there wasn't a lot to play. Weather and 6 nations over the past few weekends definitely big factors.

Kilkenny on Sunday unusual location for league semi finals.
Cant see a very big crowd there, Limerick will bring half what would go to Thurles which will still probably be the biggest of the 4 teams. Dublin have poor hurling support, Waterford average recently and its the guts of 3 hours from galway city to Kilkenny??
18,000 be a reasonable guess.
