Is Limerick's Success False, Tarnished And Bought?

I mean all this money billionaire JP McManus and his brother Gerry under the banner "Sporting Limerick" have been pumping into Limerick GAA at all levels over the past 20 years to become "World Champions".

Look friend, the match was won by generally young Limerick men, with clearly the strongest panel in the country, on the field of play. They beat Cork, Tipp and Kilkenny in route, plus the All Irelands Champions and last years beaten and the McManuses never hit a ball. Never was an All Ireland more deserved.
As regards support, for years Limerick bussiness people in the city never sponsored our teams. It was always eirher people from outside, but natives, like Tommy Moran and JP or Shaws, a family who are not even Limerick natives or even the Health Board at one stage. So even if a bussnessman from Limerick supported us over the past few years what about it.

I have a feeling this one went over your head, as well as our Limerick friend.

Thread was posted purely jest with the one about Dublin! Limerick's All Ireland was truly earned. JP McManus has supported Limerick all his life and I admire him for that. Money can't buy success on the pitch but would Limerick be where they are now without JP?

Yes, that €60,000,000 we spent on Kyle Hayes to spearhead our attack certainly did the job.

Limerick, the Real Madrid of hurling!!!

Well they can hardly call themselves ALL Ireland Champions

While Cork are deserved Munster Champs

Although they did deserve to beat Galway and claim a championship. Heaviest 1 pt victory seen in a long time

Being perfectly honest ............

I wouldn't care if we as a county had to spend 25Bn on winning the All-Ireland hurling title.

Thankfully it was only somewhere between 1973 - 2018 million Euro.

Up Limerick!

Oh Jaysus, Oldtourman (almost always like your posts on Limk forum) will you relax and stop showing your age. This just a humorous, smart, and enjoyable thread. That's if you get where it's coming from!

Enjoy it. It's good banter!

Pat McDonagh for Galway, Kerry Group down in Kerry, Elverys plus a few wealty mayo men in the US.....the list goes on. Running a county team is expensive and so what if county natives be they businesses or indiciduals wish to contribute to the team. Every county run fundraisers....should we cap it?

If the original post was in jest then why did you finish your 2nd post with the big BUT "but would Limerick be where they are now without JP?"

'World Champions'

What a fitting term for a hurling team who provided so much entertainment in 2018.
