I disagree...if a team beats Dublin next year it will because they were the better team on the day. As for pressure to win 5 in a row....5 is just a number....it's all in the head. Try a 68 year famine and "curse" talk in your head going into every final and I'll show you pressure. This Dublin team are too well grounded unfortunately to let a number get to them. yew_tree (Mayo) - Posts: 11236 - 14/09/2018 23:22:03 2141828 Link 2 |
Mayo still can come back and challenge Dublin, they had a bad year but won't be that bad again next year. Galway are keeping the Connacht title warm for them in my opinion. Dubsfan28 (Dublin) - Posts: 2509 - 14/09/2018 23:46:13 2141834 Link 0 |
They did, which shows beating Dublin is possible. Monaghan are an exciting prospect for the future if they can add one or two more good young players for 2019. I personally think if Monaghan didn't beat Dublin, Dublin could have lost the league final, the loss re-ignited some hunger. Knowing loss is no harm. Kerry will be stronger in 2019 but it'll be a young side and time will tell how ready they are to take the step. One thing is for sure, Kerry are emerging. Galway showed they have real talent but clearly the defensive model won't win Sam anymore. Galway will adapt their game for 2019 and you'll see the addition of some of those brilliant minor players. Tyrone won the U17's lastyear and some of those players will eventually step up but can't see it for a couple of years. I think Mayo missed the boat, they will be strong in 2019 but they'll need some luck and the Golden generation are getting closer to 30, its do or die for them IMO. 2018 was not all doom and gloom, Kiildare much improved, Roscommon, Donegal and Meath looking better than the previous year. I can see some kind of motion at congress to tackle the issue of too many handpasses. Given that Dublin have shown that they adapt well, I'd imagine it won't change Dublins standing.
