Best Hurler Never To Win An All-Ireland Medal (Your County And Overall)

Replying To bennybunny:  "The thing is, he isn't though. Loads of players dive. Blame the rules not the players. Loads of players these days hold the hurleys of players and drag themselves to the ground. It is a blight on the game but a different argument. Anyway both have a All stars and both deserved."

Along with Wicklow's Emanon Murray, I also nominate Kildare's Mick Moore, it's been said he was one of Kildare's greatest ever dual players, he played his club football with Carbury and hurled with Broadford, buckets of medals to his credit but no All Ireland senior medal, some say his greatest hour was against Dublin in a leinster senior hurling game in 1976 others say any one of his games was greater than the other.

The best hurler from Offaly to not win an all ireland Senior hurler title would be Barney Moylan or Paddy molloy and the best hurler to never win an all ireland from outside Offaly would be John mullane (Waterford)

Replying To Fairplayalways:  "never seen him play live, but Barney Moylan (Offaly) late 1960's early 1970's supposed to be one of the best ever, I think he held Eddie Keher scoreless from play in a game...Outside Offaly Tony Browne & Ken McGrath(Waterford) & Ciaran Carey (Limerick) Pat Critchley & John Taylor (Laois)..they are only players that spring to my mind when put on the spot..there are numerous excellent hurlers who never won provincial, let alone an all Ireland."
Barney Moylan was an excellent hurler was top scorer in over 8 senior county finals and held Eddie Keher scoreless from play and has 3 railway cups and was top scorer in the all ireland championship one year and was robbed of an all ireland

Paddy quirke, Eddie coady,Johnny nevin, Mouse kavanagh of present. Have produced loads of great Hurlers most of them lived 20miles other side of kk/Wexford border would be sitting with a bag of medals .

Nationally Waterford team of the late 90s 00s how that team never made a breakthrough and won one all irelans is a crime.

Out of curiousty Does anyone know if the winners of the lory Meagher Nicky Packard Christy ring and Joe mcdonagh get the same all Ireland medal as the winner of the senior all Ireland.

It's only stating a fact to say that because of the gaa rules on having to play for your home county there are a tonne of very talented and worthy hurlers who never won an all Ireland (some never got the chance to even compete in the Liam Mccarthy Cup).

But going back to topic I'll go for Eugene Cloonan and Ollie Canning for my own county.

Ken McGrath and Paul Flynn from waterford deserves a mention too.

He did get an all Ireland medal in 68 although he was only a sub it was his first full year senior although I think he mightve played a couple in 67 too? So best Wexford player not to get 1 Martin Quigley from Rathnure. Best of the rest Jimmy Smyth from Clare.

Someone said Sean Stack earlier, would need more time but I'd certainly agree with that.
From a Dublin perspective, without a doubt Brian McMahon, as skillful as any player I've seen.
