great article in one of the papers today about Mark Keane from Limericks U21 treble team of 2000-2002. A great great side that ultimately didn't go on to Senior success...Sean O'Connor just another name from that team that fell away..anyone else?..(no point straying out into other counties now, keep it Limerick as they are in the final and haven't won in 45 years despite a good return at underage in the last 20 years or so) Fairplayalways (Offaly) - Posts: 1034 - 17/08/2018 14:51:21 2134065 Link 0 |

Probably easier to name those who did than those who didn't!! StoreysTash (Wexford) - Posts: 1732 - 17/08/2018 15:03:01 2134070 Link 0 |
Read the Mark Keane story....sad one at that. I'm glad he got his life back on track. yew_tree (Mayo) - Posts: 11231 - 17/08/2018 15:37:26 2134080 Link 1 |
in fairness, Andrew O'Shaughnessy (hope he is good now health wise) Damien Reale, Conor Fitzgerald all went on and had a decent few years with the Seniors, the ones who NEVER made any impact at all in senior, maybe done one season and were heard of no more I am curious about...Gavin O'Mahony another who would be there Sunday but for retirement too...

Shaughs was a good one, just really unlucky with a serious illness. Dodge was a great old soldier for Limerick too up to last year if I am not mistaken. Wayne McNamara wasn't too bad either. Damien Reale and Eoin Kelly had epic battles in 2007, I wonder if they are still friends after it. Killarney.87 (Tipperary) - Posts: 2513 - 17/08/2018 16:27:31 2134093 Link 0 |
Lucey and Begley were the first big two names to emerge to the seniors from those U21 teams...they were that good management were unsure where to play them....

Goal keeper Timmy Houlihan was another from this group that got kicked into touch fairly suddenly. Bon (Kildare) - Posts: 1909 - 18/08/2018 00:04:05 2134160 Link 0 |
