I think the Monaghan folk should keep schtum about other teams diving considering the amount of frees scored by Beggan, which were "won" around midfield. Great tactic and all but stones and glasshouses etc. No team is perfect.

I look back fondly to 2015 when your own Raymond Galligan tried to do a Beggan with 2 long range frees......ah yes one of the sweetest victories of recent times

I don't think that likely to happen again cacsmckilly. McCann now has a tactic in place to prevent his hair being touched again - he now dives before any potential contact.

Tyrone management and players really coming out in support of this new found tactic of bringing on substitutions which seemed to work exceptionally well especially against Donegal on Sunday. But reality is Donegal just threw in towel and stopped playing. Tyrone were atrocious up until then and Micky Harte was left with no option but to try something. If he had have taken on junior c guys they would have looked super fit against Donegal. So in saying all this I would totally expect Tyrone to go all out from start and try build a lead. Monaghan need to be ready for it and slow game down while keeping score board ticking over. Keeping possession will be vital. Micky Harte still does not know his best starting team in my opinion.

Discussing the match itself...

Monaghan hold the aces with Beggan (solid goalkeeping, good kickouts and long range frees) and Mc Manus from play and frees. They've already beaten us twice so an opportunity for Tyrone to get one back but only if we have learnt from earlier in the year...

We cannot again surrender possession on Monaghan's kickouts. We have to push up on the kickouts.

We should know well in advance who is taking the Tyrone frees.

We should shepherd Monaghan out to the sides so any soft frees will be very tricky for Beggan.

We shouldn't count on scoring much in the last 15 minutes this time. You can positively rest assured Monaghan will have a tactic to slow the game down by all means at that stage especially if Tyrone don't fully contest kickouts. Tyrone will need to be ahead with 20 minutes left.

Resist the temptation to play the smaller players upfront from the start. For me the full forward line should be Mc Aliskey, R Donnelly, C Mc Shane.

It's embarrassing for true Gaels to read some of the posts on here now.
This talk about cynicism. Who is holier that who? If I was given a thousand Euro this minute to go into the bookies and put it on the winner for next Sunday I'd be hoping nó one was looking and I'd be splitting it on both teams.
It would be a dream come through for monaghan to win Sam.
Tyrone was the first team to take the Sam through Monaghan on their way home. It was fantastic.
We all want Monaghan to beat our neighbours and make their first ever All Ireland final but if they fail then I will be supporting our Ulster team and hoping that they can finish the job.
No disrespect to Dublin but they need to be beaten to keep interest in the championship.

A true Gael that totally forgets that Galway are still involved and may yet have a say? And no I won't be supporting any team if Monaghan exits on Sunday. I will certainly watch but certainly won't support.

Agree, talk of cynicism is dated IMO. The one crab I would have and referees continue to turn a blind eye to is this putting free takers off by verbal or running across their eye line as they are about to kick. Very relevant to us, watch when Beggan is taking frees on Sunday

I'm in me 40,s if you want to know. I've been on this forum about 15 years I'd say. It was a funny post from the Cavan man. Or are we not allowed to make jokes on here? I see plenty Monaghan posters on here dishing out the slagging. I'll give it out too,and take it when it's against us. But I won't say nothing as lads stick the welly into our team and the achievements of our teams in the past.
If Monaghan win against us I'll be supporting them in the final regardless of any oul stick dished out on a forum like this.I'd love to see Monaghan finally do it and I'll not let a few mouths on here put me off the notion if you make it to the final. But in the mean time I'll be giving stick back if it's sent our way :) Cheers.

Get a grip man. Life's for living not for dragging people down. I couldn't sit and watch a match without having feelings of wanting to see one win over the other... Its the Gaelic in my blood. Being Irish and Ulster I will always support the ulster team.

I saw Conor Meyler helped of the field if that's what you're on about. And there was a little bit of keep ball goin on and that was about it. You know how you tried to do against Kerry in the closing minutes in blaney except yuz blew it."
Funny you should mention that because when Meyer went down "injured" he was over the sidelines and off the field of play and when the camera focused back on him 30 seconds later he was lying inside the sideline on the field of play! Hmm I wonder how that happened ?
