"and i wont be wrong" haha. So you are putting the house on it? Seeing as you know the future. Limerick would be out of there backside if Nicky Quaid hadn't stopped the Limerick goal chance. Nobody knows what will happen or who will win. otherwise we all wouldn't be so passionate to talk and discuss it, let alone bother to go to games.

if a player cant manage the hype himself,he needs to look at his own approach. perfect10 (Wexford) - Posts: 3929 - 31/07/2018 15:08:11 2127894 Link 2 |
Its not the players who are going on about this hype thing. I think it comes from 2013 when at semi final stage we were favourites and then Clare punked us but I dont think it was down to that. it was down to Clare momentum and lack of pressure vs our pressure and lack of Match sharpness. I wish people would stop going on about it.. Oh the Limerick fans get carried away and that causes the team to lose... BS. why cant fans get excited? were all supposed to go around saying 'we probably wont win'

this limerick team is a serious oufit and so is their manager and can't see anybody stopping them now

completely agree, get excited,if players can't enjoy the hype then i think we need to forget about it

I think Shane Dowling and John Kiely were hinting at Limerick 95fm, you can be a disgrace at times. In 2007 after we beat Tipp after those 3 games they came out with a song it was pure cringeworthy stuff and don't get me started on the carry-on of them in 2013. That creates a hype and supporters bought into it and players were constantly stopped and couldn't get away from people wanting to talk about winning finals. Yeah in 2008 Waterford enjoyed the build up and the hype was nothing to do with their loss. I think it may have been something to do with them coming up against the greatest team of all time who delivered arguably their stand out performance! Did 95fm have a 5 or 6 hour build up show before throw in with Clare in 2013? The Limerick Leader's nose seems to be out of place after Kiely and Dowling's comments if Donn O'Sullivan's opinion piece is anything to go by. Ironically, this could be causing more hassle than hype would have. At least the players and management would have had a good idea on how to manage hype. I thought Derek McGrath and Waterford managed the hype well last year after 2008. Killarney.87 (Tipperary) - Posts: 2513 - 01/08/2018 21:30:04 2128371 Link 0 |
Was, and is, all this hype business a load of nonsense. I think the reason Limerick did not win in previous was they were simply not good enough. We have been told Limerick teams froze in Croke Park. Where was all this freezing when they beat firm favourites Waterford before 82,000 people in 07 and the dual Munster Champions Cork before another vast crowd last Sunday.

Dead Right. We lost in 2013 as Munster Champions at the Semi Final stage. So what''. Waterford lost in the same circumstances in 2007 and 2010, Tipp lost in 2008,and 2012, and Cork have done so in '14,'17 and this year. Yet there is nobody these counties lost because of hype. Like Limerick in '13 they all lost because they were not good enough

Thanks for your good wishes- we certainly need to win it if at all possible

I work in an area where 2 Limerick players work. Nobody bothers them about hurling and they themselves don't put in or out with people. In years gone by I'd have gone over to talk to them about it but these days realise that I'd just be one of fifty people thinking the same thing that day. slayer (Limerick) - Posts: 6480 - 02/08/2018 11:54:54 2128446 Link 0 |
I do, was at it. I think Conor Counihan hit Enda Gormley off-the-ball and got away with it. Referee realised should have been a red then Tony Davis got the line for a nothing challenge that was barely a free
