Mayo Ladies Walk Out

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Nobody seems to know what has happened here. Was there a row between management and Cora over her playing in Australia and are the Carnacon ladies leaving in sympathy with her? If player welfare is actually the issue will that encourage some players to consider the AFL ladies league?

Replying To keeper7:  "Yes & the selector(s) who left were also from that club. The manager's statement after the Cavan match yesterday claimed that the 'walkout' began with a communication from the Carnacon club secretary."
If that is as you say then it looks like the County board is backing the coach and the club is backing its players a bit of an impasse.

Great win for the ladies yesterday. Those who walked away on their team should be told to stay away until next year.

Welfare issues didn't arise overnight so I'm not buying that line. Walking out on your county before a big match is inexcusable and I agree with Yewtree that they should be told to take a hike.
