Munster Final Kerry Or Cork?

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Looking forward to this match in the refurbished stadium. Will be tight, always is between these two. Kerry definitely have the forwards to put up scores. Can their back line and midfield cut out the flow to the Cork forwards thou? Think first half could be tight but Kerry to pull away in 2nd half. Just think they have to much fire power up front. Want to see Paul Geaney, JOD and Clifford mix it up with Cork back line.

Kerry. Quite easily I feel. Cork have a few injuries. Kerry will want to make a statement.

Kerry will win this one. I think that they will be in very good shape going into the super 8s this year.

So true The_Fridge. With Galway already through to Super 8s, the winner of this will face them first round i do believe. Kerry will not want to lose this to their neighbors, but i think it'll be closer then people think. I know Cork have those few injuries, but for bragging rights and being each others main rivals, think we are in for a good match. Hope so anyway. An easy win for Kerry doesn't serve them well going into Super 8s. Plus a strong Cork in Munster forces Kerry to up their game. For me, i hope JOD can stay healthy and push on from here.

On the road to Cork, there's something very special about Kerry v Cork in a Munster final.
Hoping we can spoil Corks homecoming, An Riocht Abu

The reality is players like Jamie O'Sullivan, the O'Driscoll brothers are not inter County football standard players. They have proven this over and over again. There are big question marks over others like Kevin. Crowley and Ruairí Deane. They had potential, possibly still have it but the sands of time are very nearly gone for them too. Kevin Flahive and Sam Ryan, the Whitesare very promising but as yet we know very little about them at this level. Luke Connolly, Tomás Clancy and Ian Maguire are our best players. They are the most consistent anyway. With a better supporting cast, they would be far more prominent and people would see the best of them. At the end of the day, Kerry are miles ahead. We have not beaten them in a knock out match in 19 years at senior. Tonight is not knock out either. The winning margin depends on Kerrys approach. The result, alas, is as much a foregone conclusion is it is relevant.

The handicap in this match is only four points. I do expect us to win and hopefully win well. However we are inexperienced at the moment in many areas of the pitch. If Cork put us under a bit of pressure early then you never know what will happen.

Foregone conclusion it certainly isnt.

On paper it should be a reasonably comfortable Kerry win but the PUC factor might make cork raise their game. I honestly can't see them getting enough scores to win though. If I was Cork I would get stuck in to our young lads and see how they cope, that's the only way I can see them getting a result as I think Kerry have too much football for cork at the moment. They played well v Tipp though, so perhaps they'll surprise us.

Both teams tearing one another's defence to shreds in the first 10 minutes.

This is Gaelic football at its best both teams going for it, best game in the world when played like this. No defensive boring bs.

Game over after 20 minutes despite Cork getting 2 early goals.

That says it all about how much of a gap there is between these two teams.

Another display of why Munster has traditionally been the most one sided province in Football championship.
What an advantage it has been to Kerry since the foundation of the organisation.
Really needs to be adressed but alas it's probably too late. They have ruined football in the province.
Waterford the victims yesterday was it and what hope is there for any young kids looking at that terrible beating and they didn't even have the decency to ease off and wanted to embarrass Waterford. Bannigan giving everything to Kerry to boot here. Black card for nothing and free in instead of free out for barging.
They even have the referees onside.
Shocking stuff.

Black card destroys a game , it doesn't enhance it. It had the makings of a half decent game but really Cork are way out of their depth. Munster football is a complete borefest. No other county in Munster gives a fiddlers and can't even slow Kerry down. It's nearly as bad as Leinster.
