Season Tickets

(Oldest Posts First)

As usual the GAA are making f ups with attendance records, I travelled to Limerick last Saturday and after driving over 4 hours to get to the game I was told my attendance wasn't recorded, emailed them and was as well off to piss into the wind, wouldn't listen, time for all season ticket holders to push for change to the attendance system, when you pay the money you shouldn't need any attendance records

Yeah I totally agree. Twice this year my attendance wasn't recorded. They would not update my attendance on either occassion initially. They eventually relented and my attendance was updated. Its a ludicrous situation that you can be penalised for the mistake of a GAA official not scanning you in correctly/ faulty scanner. I have attended every league and championship game so far and I agree that attendance should no longer be recorded at it is not done accurately.

i got a season ticket years ago, never ever ever again.
i tried to add the club + season ticket to it and i only found out about 2 days before the first round of wex football championship that my ticket was not valid, and they would send out the replacement.
i found the people administering the tickets in croke park to be unbelievably unhelpful, borderline incompetent.not even so much as an "we are sorry, this is our mistake".
then i had a similar fiasco going in to the club finals on paddys day, there must have been 50 people with the same problem and we were met with a most dismissive attitude.
just pay as i go now, having said that due to my job i dont get to as many games as i used to as i work in a bar.

I've had season ticket the last two years and have yet to have any issue regarding the recording of attendance.

I second that. I've had one for 5 years I think. No problems off note. I find it excellent to be honest.

sorry but the rigid nature of the season ticket is a farce
needs a major overhaul or we should all vote with our keyboards and not renew...and hell if we did the Dubs might finally get an away match in leinster thats IN the county that they are actually playing against !!

What a farce. First year i've had one. Couldn't get into it to get my ticket for the Monaghan game but thankfully someone I know had a spare ticket. Got my ulster final ticket and they've put me into the Pat McGrane rather than the Gerry Arthur. Some respect for season ticket holders.

i have said for a long time they need to be overhauled, add in underage matches (minor,u21) might help get some sort of crowd at minor in particular.
as it stands, bar you were confident of reaching a final the value is not great.the surety of the ticket is the selling point.

It has always been that way for in Clones for Ulster finals. Gerry Arthurs is a small stand with only 2000 or less covered seats. Donegal and Fermanagh would have more than that so the most of the season tickets are in the Pat McGrane. You may just hope it doesn't rain!!!!!

I would agree with the minor, u20 etc but are the minor games not on before the senior games anyway? if you are from a county going badly there isn't much sense buying a season ticket unless you are a complete diehard and go to every games regardless. suits some people but others it doesn't

Have to say i have had one or two difficulties over a number a long of years, re attendances not being read etc. Have always found the team very responsive and understanding and have solved issues without any hassle beyond a couple of email conversations.

no most minor matches (certainly in leinster hurling and football round robins) are not before senior matches.

Different in Ulster, before the Tyrone Monaghan match, Down we're playing Monaghan in the minors. GAA should look into it

I had the same until last weekend, a few times attendance records were incorrect but that would be all season tickets in a group, this time though it was 1 ticket that wasn't recorded, the rest were fine, emailed them on Monday, their reply wait until Friday to see will it be updated, Friday came and still no joy so I emailed them again, they said everything is in and the ticket wasn't scanned and there is nothing that can be done. They wouldn't budge. Now after driving 4 hours to the game and it not being recorded properly to me the email said 'we had a look, it wasn't scanned, so tough luck' it is us the ticket holders that are losing out not the GAA, I told them that I will be asking for receipts at the gate from now on, also said that we are putting our trust in their computer system that is flawed and that we don't know if a ticket was scanned or not for 48 hours after a game, not good enough. Got no reply
