Ant see London beating Sligo but I definitely think New York will beat Leitrim . Inaroundehouse (Cavan) - Posts: 975 - 30/04/2018 19:29:31 2095792 Link 0 |
I stand corrected. I am assuming 2001 was the last time NY sent a team to Ireland for a Connacht championship game?

New York played a challenge game V Corofin. Leitrim played in the National League and played many challenge games I imagine. I would assume on that basis alone, they are much better prepared. bennybunny (Cork) - Posts: 3917 - 01/05/2018 17:37:02 2096051 Link 0 |
Leitrim will be victorious on Sunday, by a a few points. thelongridge (Offaly) - Posts: 1746 - 01/05/2018 17:56:55 2096052 Link 0 |

That seems to be the view alright .However Leitrim are not going over for the crack so being a wise Cavan man I suggest you keep the wager small!!!

I would take the Corofin result with a pinch of salt. Imagine you've put in a year like they did in 2017 and you're rewarded with a trip to NY. I would say there was plenty of beer and rightly so! Lockjaw (Donegal) - Posts: 9155 - 02/05/2018 09:42:37 2096177 Link 0 |
Plus a Galway senior championship and an All Ireland club championship to defend. No way were Corofin going to take that game to NY. Enjoy the holiday, lots of beer and good times and get through the game with no injuries was their plan

I can't see anything in Leitrim league form to suggest otherwise. NY have actually been unlucky in their 1st round game this past few years. Now with the addition of lads like Jamie Clarke it could be enough to get them over the line. 11/8 NW to me is better value than 8/11 Leitrim. I think Leitrim will win, lads have more heart Playing for there own county, best of luck to our neighbors Leitrim. blueman1903 (Cavan) - Posts: 884 - 02/05/2018 14:59:11 2096244 Link 0 |
Tell that to the London or NY lads. I know London Lads that travel 50miles a night to train. They put just as much into it as any of our lads do. Inaroundehouse (Cavan) - Posts: 975 - 02/05/2018 15:48:51 2096258 Link 2 |
Indeed. London also have league form. They know where they stand. New York have no form to go on at all. They play one meaningful game a year. They might win. The odds are probably better value. However, there is a reason why Leitrim (an average Division 4 side) are odds on favourites. Your money, but I would also keep the wager small.

If NY wins 3 straight games, they are Connacht Champs - then, does the Super 8 come to the Bronx with NY hosting all 3 of their games ? And, if they host and win 2 more matches after that, they will be AI Champs. Who among the 32 others will seek such favouratism in 2019 - and get it ? omahant (USA) - Posts: 2615 - 02/05/2018 23:46:12 2096331 Link 1 |
Would any Lads Based in New York care to compile a list of the best/most notable players to play for NY in the last 10 years? TribalThing (Galway) - Posts: 74 - 03/05/2018 09:58:22 2096361 Link 0 |
