Really think the addition of Ronaldson makes Oranmore, already many peoples dark horses, favourites to win the championship outright this year.

Also Gerry Fahy procuring the services of Paul Kilgannon as a selector will prove to be a very shrewd move considering he managed Claregalway to the same title last year.

I agree Dangleberry.

One thing I Know about Gerry Fahy is he will Leave no stone unturned whoever he is working with, Played under him a few years ago at minor level and was blown away by his level of professionalism.
Ronaldson is worth 6-8 points in most games he is a serious Club forward. in fact im quite surprised Salthill or St. James didn't Snap him up.

He went to Oranmore as he bought a house there and wants to get to know people in the area which is fair enough but hes left his home club in bad state now.
He should have been in Mayo squads the last few years, scoring regularly in club games, very accurate. Wonder any chance of getting called into Galway..

He is living in Maree so even further from Shrule/Glencorrib again. He is definitely transferred he is even doing a bit of hurling! Was on the bench for Oranmore against Carnmore last weekend!!

We had all this hype about oranmore last year aswell, and I mean no disrespect here, they bowed out tamely in the quarters last year and I expect them to be competitive but not contenders this year too.

Was at there league game yesterday against Williamstown,Ronaldson played 60 mins did ok but not the marquee forward everyone thinks, way off the galway panel, killgallon was not with oranmore management,he is still over claregalway from my knowledge,Oranmore won by 2-10 To 10,Williamstown we're poor and need a huge improvement in 3 weeks time if there to come close to oranmore in there championship opener,

Dunmore v Athenry
Dunmore by 10

Oughterard v St Brendans
Oughterard by 3

Glenamaddy v Menlough
Menlough by 5

MB v Spideal - Spideal
Fancy Spideal to upset the odds here in what should be a tough game

Williamstown v Oranmore
Oranmore finally broke their duck v Williamstown in the league recently, expect them to follow this up with a W here.

OA v Headford
Think Headford are real dark horses for this competition and should get off the mark here.

Gabriels v Carna -
A fixture that could well be repeated when it comes to the relegation stages, Carna to win here.

Kilkerrin Clonberne v Clifden
KC to win handy

Predictions
Menlough to beat Glenamaddy at there ease
Oughterard to ease past Brendan's
Williamstown to beat oranmore by a point or 2
Killkerin/Clon by 7 or 8 v Clifden
Dunmore to beat a poor Athenry outfit
Headford to draw with Aran
Spidial to win a tight game with Michael/brean
Carna should have to much for Gabriel's

Williamstown - Oranmore the big game of the round.

Really fancy Oranmore in this one, especially after Gerry Fahy and Paul Kilgannon's men recorded a fine win against the same opponents in the league recently.

Oran by 3/4 points.

You'd have to give Williamstown credit for coming back from 6 down at half time. A game that could have gone either way and a draw was probably a fair result. Oranmore are a cynical outfit and need to lose their arrogance if they want to proceed. Hats off to Williamstown, they showed tremendous courage and dug deep. They can only improve.

Went to An Spideal as a neutral today a d saw two decent games, but how the county board fixed the games in Spideal is beyond me, a stand is the least we deserve when paying 10euro at the gate, when you have MB pitch 2 miles back the road with a decent stand baffles me!
Having game sin club pitches def add to the atmosphere though

Top two in each group through to the quarters. 1st place in each group plays 2nd from another group, open draw.

Bottom team in each group goes to a relegation play off. The 3rd place teams in each group play off against each other in a relegation semi. Winners are safe from relegation.

The 2 losers join the 4 bottom placed teams, leaving 6 teams. These 6 face an open draw against each other. The losers of these 3 games are relegated to junior.

You have that all wrong regarding relegation, the third place teams in each group playoff with the two losers joining the 4 bottom placed teams in two groups of 3,the bottom team in each group are relegated, with the 2 second place teams playing off and the looser of that also relegated,a lot of games for county board to get theough

No more than the senior c'ship 3 for the drop will focus minds big time. Proper order as it will lead to more competitive c'ships and a raising of standards. Should have been done years ago.
