Meath v Cavan

Replying To LoyalRoyal:  "I'm worried we are in for a bit of a reality check this weekend. It's not like we've beaten anyone we would traditionally be worried about. Carlow, Wicklow, Longford (arguably was a draw), Roscommon (draw) and Clare.

Let's not get carried away with it. There's nothing to suggest this will be anything but a dogfight if we're going to get a win."
You might have point most of the teams you have mentioned are probably not top quality sides . Roscommon are a decent enough side though, and where favorites and probably still are in some peoples eyes to go up. I think what has pricked supporters interest. Is in the two league games we played alot of players have showing great form. ie Mc Gill Lavin Mc Kever Flanagan. Full back line is solid as it has been for good while. Midfield is decent most teams tying there best to avoid it. So maybe its way the team is playing that has people excited. But I agree we rarely win against Ulster opposition and its going to be a tight one. But especially after last weekend in this division expect the unexpected.

That must qualify for post of the month- are you for real thinking that if the pitch is unplayable that Cavan will forfeit the points.

Read the post! They make a call Saturday and if there's any doubt at all move it to Navan straight away! If they think its fine then leave it there! But can't be in a position like last week! A result has to be determined this weekend!

Will the pitch be playable between now and then.

Perhaps you can shed some light on which 'senior' players left/injured from team who we would be familiar with.

I've read the post and that is why I made the comment-maybe you should read your own post again !!. and the match is fixed for Sunday, not Saturday. A result will be determined when the match is played.

I know its on Sunday ! I'm saying they make a call the day before and move it then if required ! There hardly gonna change the venue the day of the game! Stop trying to be a smart a**e.Doesn't really suit you.

And if game was moved to Navan and then on Sunday pitch was deemed unplayable, would Meath forfeit the points then also? ??

Pairc Tailtean will be playable this weekend so wouldn't be an issue.. You lads are great at criticising alternative ideas!! So if have you any better ideas let's hear them ! If you have a better plan than mine great ,I'm always open minded

grahamc9897 (Meath)- No need to get annoyed - it is just a forum and none of our opinions on this issue will effect what happens at the end of the day -end off

Navan is playable and will be playable on Sunday, if Breffni is not ok tomorrow the game should be switched, simple as that

Referee or independent official makes the call. The idea of a side forfeiting points because of weather is stupid

Look at the end of the day I dont think the points should ever going to be Given to Meath..Hopefully the game goes ahead in Cavan on Sunday and thats the end of it but If there is any Doubt move in to Navan and problem solved.I just think that that decision needs to be made early to prevent the farce of last week..Who ever thought the pitch would be playable on Sunday after the game was Cancelled on the Saturday evening does not have much comman sense.

I would not suggest that the points are forfeited, but certainly home advantage could be, these games need to be played and if their is a suitable alternative it should be used

In my opinion, the new compressed gaa calendar means that the rules in relation to postponements should probably be overhauled. There is no room in the calendar for a team to suffer multiple postponements so the gaa will have to find a way of playing matches even if it means using neutral venues or the home side losing home advantage.
