Despite being written off, i dont think kilkenny are in as bad a position as some think. Here is my take on a best 15 when everyone is available.

1 Eoin Murphy
2 Paul Murphy
3 Connor Delaney
4 Joe Lyng
5 Connor Fogarty
6 Cillian Buckley
7 Padraic Walsh
8 Richie Leahy
9 James Maher
10 Walter Walsh
11 Richie Reid
12 TJ Reid
13 Liam Blanchfield
14 Colin Fennelly
15 Richie Hogan

IT was sad to see Cody at the end of the game. He knew Kilkenny were closer than they deserved and was hoping for the miracle that did not happen. He did his best. He put out he best team he had available, knowing the two conseutive losses at the beginning of the leauge was not the way to go.And obviously he had harsh words at half time.It was sad to see watch might be the end of an era.His demeanour at the end said it all.

I don't think Kilkenny are that far away nor will they be this year. I think Brian Cody is right to experiement and find the right blend and get KK back to where they want to be. A lot of people have written KK off - a lot of this is based on what some people want to see because, Irish begrudgery being what it is, some people are jealous of and feel that Kilkenny have won too much.

As i had expected in my post from jamuary kilkenny are not far away at all!!

On completion of the league though, the following is what I now think is the best team when everyone is available:
1Murphy
2P.Murphy (light years better than holden)
3P.Walsh
4Deegan
5Delaney
6Buckley
7Morrissey
8Leahy
9Fogarty
10Keoghan
11Reid
12Maher
13Fennelly
14Walsh
15Hogan

It might have been sad for you. but I can assure you I never felt "sad", and I doubt very few others in Kilkenny did. I remember John Mullane writing an article in the Independent at the time suggesting that Kilkenny would be relegated. As Mark Twain said on reading his obituary in the New York Journal - The report of my death was an exaggeration.

Lads ye can what ye like. Kilkenny have'nt being playing well so far in the championship. its pritty bad when your relieing on frees for your scores. And as for the bs of kilkenny for the All Ireland after the league. That some people where shouting. Well come back to reality. Galway are well ahead of everybody in leinster at the moment. We are relieing on one or to players for scores. And if we play like that next week, wexford will beat us all so. not that they where much better last night

If wexford bottle up tj like they did last year. And if they do as good a job this year. we could be in bother. And by tj's standard. He's been pritty quite this champship
