I hear there was two snowflakes over Hyde this week so hopefully the pitch is playable. :).
All joking aside. I'm looking forward to this one.

Round 1 of a league division 2 match hardly needs it's own thread.

Every other one does. So why not. Sure it's great craic.

Why not, it opens discussion and it is to go and give your view and prediction on the game.
I think it will be a good game and hoping for Meath win after this stubborn comment.
Respectfully going for a Roscommon win though as one person from Roscommon is not going to change my mind.
Roscommon 2+

I have the Rossies to win in Last Man Standing. Keeping an eye on Chronicle and Meath in O'Byrne cup. A shaky enough way to try and gauge form!

I don't think it's the thread he has issues with. More so the poster of the thread.

Fair play to you, you seem to be trying to get a lot of discussions going. Are Derry not playing in the League?

I don't know whether that is sarcasm or seriousness, I could be stupid. But I'm going to go ahead and answer your question. They are Obviously and Clearly in League, I just don't have a clue of how the Westmeath game is going go what so ever.

One thing I have to say about Royaldunne is a passionate Meath man and you have to credit to that. And me been a proud Louth man living right on the border with Meath, Meath reminds of my ex they have broken my wee heart on many occasion. Fairplay to you Royaldunne you always fight your corner. I admire you for that. Anyway the Rossies and the Royals have to travel to Drogheda for league matches. Paddys day weekend is gonna be some weekend. Saturday falls on Paddys day. Its the All Ireland football and Hurling club finals in Croker plus in the six nations Ireland play England in the last round in Twickers. Sunday it's the real battle of the Boyne between Louth and Meath in Drogheda. Don't mind that 1690 nonsense. AN LU ABU!

Roscommon : Current Connaught Champs, narrowly beaten by Mayo in all Ire Semi, recent division 1 experience, numerous Connaught minor and u21 success in recent years, playing at home

Meath: Hammered by Kildare, scraped by Sligo and beaten by avg donegal team, no recent division 1 experience, no recent underage success at minor and u21, playing away.

As a betting man, you can only look at the facts and for me its Ros by 6/7..

Royaldunne, good to see you're still keeping busy! You were mighty craic on the Roscommon forum last time we were in Division 2.

Hard to judge how this one will go, I'll be watching Meath today with interest, although gauging a team from an O'Byrne Cup match isn't easy. Needless to say, the league meeting is a big game for both sides, with home advantage I'd be hoping Roscommon would have enough to get the win.

Not narrowly and not semi.

Will be a difficult game for Meath as Rossies have more experience at the higher level. I do think Meath will cause problems but Rossies to win by 3/4

It's funny that you would Have a pop at the Hyde in your opening post considering it has one of the best surfaces in th country and one of the main talking point from Mayo fans after recent fbd league game was praise of it.

Don't throw stones at glass houses springs to mind when your own ground is in such condition couldn't hold a game today the Hyde looked smashing yesterday during game there.

Anyway if Meath are going to beat Roscommon it's in round 1 when we have zero preparation done in comparison to them. Still think we will win as we are twice the team Meath are with a better manager

Trust me OhtobeaRossie this thread will have more posts then any of the div 1 ones, any thread that has royaldunne on board tends to get allot of traffic, it's a tough game to call and the rossies are rightfully favourites but I'm going to let my heart rule my head and call it for the royals, Meath by two

Meath putting a lot into league this year, but on recent evidence its hard to see anything but a Roscommon win.

Here's hoping we beat Meath on Sunday. I expect it to be a tough game.
