Well, what are the chances?

Rathnew will fight to the bitter end but it's hard to see past a well seasoned outfit like St. Vincents. Having said that, Aughrim on a Sunday afternoon with a big Rathnew following is not going to be easy.

On another note there is talk of the Swan Cup Final (Laragh v Rathnew) being a curtainraiser to the St. Vincents v Rathnew game. Nothing confirmed yet though.

Will be interesting. Rathnew won't be found wanting for hunger or spirit. Like I said in a previous post, they are not the team of old but make up for any shortcomings in experience with grit and determination. It will also be interesting to see if a certain St Vincent's player stays on the field for the full game. His self control, or any perceived lack of same will be fully tested, no doubt.

There won't be two games on the pitch in middle of November. Are you completely deluded?

You could say the same about alot of Rathnew players and their sideline? With this being a Leinster tie it will be a ref from outside the county who won't be intimidated.

Intimidated like most of the players from most of the clubs are?

Isn't it great to see the whole county get behind our county representatives and not wallowing in self pity and predictable referee conspiracy theories!!!!!!

Get behind them - they only bring embarrassment to the county with their ill discipline !!!

Don't care 'what they bring, I'll certainly be shouting for them and so should the rest of the county.

It's no wonder the county is the way it is with an attitude like that. No matter who represents the county I'll certainly get behind them God knows we don't often get the chance to cheer on our own

Well said Dubarra. An Inferiority complex & begrudgery are key characteristics of our problems in this County. You'd swear every other club had an exemplary discipline record going by some of the comments here. Say what you like, Rathnew will back themselves regardless of who ya put out in front of them and Vincents will know they've been in a game driving out of Aughrim. The best of luck to them.

Rathnew Abu , as a Wicklow supporter i will support all our teams and might i add Rathnew brings alot to Wicklow football and we would have poor competitions without them . On the other hand the club itself needs to improve their image , which gets a bad press from a small minority of their supporters .

I'm sure it'll be a good game, has there been any sanctions after the Newtown Blues game? Article in the indo said the Leinster Council were looking into the matter?

Best of luck to Rathnew in their upcoming match against Vincents. Overall I don't agree with Rathnew's tactics by times but I admire and respect their grit, determination, skill and what they have achieved as a club over the last 30 years plus I always support the county champions in all grades when they represent the county regardless. I am of the opinion that if the county champions can make progress in the leinster and all ireland series like previously, it would benefit the county team so for that reason I will be hoping for a Rathnew victory, however, they will need to show discipline against Vincents because there is one sure thing; they can only hope to win if they finish the game with 15 players. Vincents are an excellent team and are my tip to win leinster, if not the all ireland based upon their pedigree especially their forward unit.
