Ports by 6. Young Blair to do the damage and young Doran from strangford will have a strong game in the midfield.

Who are the main players for each team? Would it be close on paper?

For Ballycran I'd say Liam McCarthy In the back line, Phelim Savage in midfield and upfront Stuart Martin, these are the boys who they'll have to watch out for.

For Portaferry, Tom Murray Callum Smyth Ronan Blair Ronan Murphy and young padraig doran

If Ballycran play anything like they did in the semi then the Ports will win with a bit in hand

Ports by a bag full unless they have a particularly bad night

They must of had a bad night - another upset this year yet again.

Congratulations to Ballycran worthy winners. Went to sleep after going 9 points up but were the better team around the middle third with 6, 8,9 and 11 all wining their personal battles. Ports missed some easy frees in the first half, conceded goals at the start of each half and only have themselves to blame.

Well done to Ballycran, they were simply the better team who wanted it the most.

Fair play to Ballycran, although they nearly let it slip at the end and looked dead on their feet in the final 10 minutes or so they looked deserving winners. Portaferry's big players didn't make the impact many expected

What's wrong? You've gone quiet all of a sudden.

DOWN MHC FINAL - RESULT
Ballycran 3-14 V 2-15 Portaferry

That's me finished tipping! I fancied the Ports to do the business here but fair play to the Crans, they were outstanding!

They got of to the best possibly start with a goal within 2 mins of the game starting and they done exactly the same right at the start of the second half. The ports, to their credit, clawed it back to within a point (I think a point - there was no scoreboard, so not 100% sure!!) but they hit some poor wides. I think there was 6 points in it to the Crans at half-time. The centre half back for the Crans was outstanding, in fact, the Cran half back line and midfield won a lot of the ball in that area.
Some really outstanding long range scores from both teams but the Crans appeared to want it more although there was nothing more than a strike of the ball between the teams at the end.

I assume there is an Minor Ulster Club championship...anyone advise/confirm. I can't find fixtures anywhere....

Yes, organised by Ballinascreen.

Ports thought it was only a matter of turning up and got caught cold. That can happen when everyone is telling you how great you are all the time and you don't put the hard yards in.

We'd only a panel of 18, so we need a clean bill of health to keep going.
