Just 2 weeks until the game in McKenna against Armagh in the Christy ring. I'd expect a different Armagh to show up that did in the league. Any players going well for clubs that should be in with a chance of starting for the county?

Saturday 12th May 2018 Christy Ring Cup Group 2
3 00 PM Ballycran DOWN vs ARMAGH

Looking forward to this game and expect Down to win with a bit to spare!

I was looking at the starting 15 there and that must be the first time the entire half forward line is made up of non-ards player; throw in Mal at midfield and that's 4 non-ards on the starting 15.

Non-ards starting contingent likely to be higher than 4, there may well be a false starter or 2 in that line-up

First things first I think the 4 lads who are non ards are well worth their place on the team, no issues there. They're good enough.
Secondly, I think barring the few odd lads from our club who haven't committed to the team its probably the best on offer at the minute.
Thirdly,
I will repeat this again but playing it in our pitch will suit Armagh more than us as they're physically stronger and the small pitch will keep it tight.

It would have been better in Portaferry as our size can be counteracted with speed.

Best of luck in this one as I think we need to win it to avoid a relegation battle. Going to Ballinascreen to play Derry won't be easy and the other teams are just better than us ATM.

Well done Down, the first sending off was justified, but it meant there was a mountain to climb. Second
Sending off was very harsh. Conceding 6 goals, but it could have been more, some great saves by Armagh keeper

BRILLIANT RESULT!!

London 1-23 V Down 2-22

Down made it two wins from two in the Christy Ring Cup against London in Ruislip thanks to a late Daithi Sands goal.

Two points each from Kevin O'Loughlin and Shane Lawless helped the hosts to an early 0-4 to 0-1 lead before a Danny Toner edged Down into a 1-6 to 0-8 lead with 10 minutes to go to half-time. However, London hit back with a goal of their own from Cork native Aaron Sheehan to take a 1-12 to 1-10 advantage into the break.

Five unanswered points on the restart propelled Down into a 1-15 to 1-13 lead before the Exiles equalised through efforts from Cillian Burke and Colin Nelson.

Nelson then put London back in front and Sheehan had them three points up, 1-21 to 1-18, before Sands netted at the end of normal time to give Down a dramatic win.

eh?

Ballinascreen will be a battle, but I think if we keep our cool we can come out of it with the point we need to progress.
