Erm OK thanks for that ziggy32001.
Fortunately, or unfortunately depending on your view of things MOD's time is history.
A few posters on here seem to have an inside track on what's going on in the panel. I was simply asking why so many seem to be exploring options outside of playing for Meath recently?
Of course, all of this could be idle offseason chatter, hopefully it is, and we can play with as full a deck as possible.

Ronan Jones is gone for sure. It would appear that Harnan,O'Coillean are gone. Harry Rooney is still in Australia so not sure about him.
Not sure about Keoghan but he would be a serious loss.

These young lads want to do a bit of travelling, nothing wrong with that. Dont think it has anything to do with not wanting to play with Meath. I,m sure they will be back in a year or two.

Totally agree. People need to realise that these lads going travelling at 21/22/23 is nothing to do with them not wanting to play for Meath.

Next year is all about the the league. We have to make division 1. That's our all Ireland next year.

After that a run through the qualifiers to the super 8. We don't want to be missing out on this or we'll keep falling further behind the top teams.

Exactly, nothing wrong with people leaving considering the effort and commitment that is required for inter county at the moment. But the way things are going its is a never ending conveyor of guys leaving. But utopia you speak of where everyone rocks up in two years probably is not going to happen. As by then younger lads might want to do there traveling etc.

Not according to SheridansTry, he'd rather we never play Dublin again and lose to Longford.

Sheridanstrys negativity is what's wrong with Meath football now, there's to many people of the same opinion, when did we come such cowards,
F.E.A.R has two meanings
Forget everything and run
Or
Face everything and rise.
As regarding players not making themselves available we'll know soon enough as training is soon starting

From what I heard, he will be lucky if he is able to be an option for summerhill never mind Meath.

Priority has to be to get promotion for 2018, for a run in the championship we will need a bit of luck with the draw in the qualifiers, to hope to be able to beat the bigger teams we have to get to a stage where we are regularly competing against them. It is not being negative saying we have no chance of beating dublin in 2018, it is being honest, but keep doing the right things, preparing in the right way, over the next 3-4 years we have a strong group of players coming, there is huge work going on by both clubs and by the academies at county level, the 2000s was a wasteland when it came to developing players and the correct culture. We will be back fighting for trophies and soon.... keep the faith, back the team, back the management, every meath person wants the same thing.

Zero results? We won the U17 champ, beating Dublin twice, the minors hammered Dublin last year and this year Dublin just edged them. From were we were that is progress

Broadly agree with that. It's not negative to suggest Dublin will beat us next year, but it is to suggest we just shouldn't turn up because we'll lose. It's also idiotic.

I think its an honour for lads to be selected to play on Meath teams.

Alot of what I hear is that its understandable that lads don't want to commit give the level of commitment required these days. Do we think that the lads in the 80s and 90s under Boylan were less committed than the lads these days and these lads are giving more than the teams before them did?

Secondly, for lads picked on the panel, they owe it to the team for everything they get from it.........in my opinion, they should be training 14-20 times week.

Lets hope we can be more competitive next year
