For the Carlow or Westmeath game, will we not know date and time (Sat v Sun) until the 1st July after the Joe McDonagh final is played? Week's notice is short!

Replying To MyOhMi:  "Very disappointed with Davy and his line - 9 points up at one stage and we couldn't see it out .. so we whinge blaming the ref for this and that ...

Frees
I've said it before and I'll say it again - all the top teams are winning games on frees alone ... TJ Reid is the prime example .. We have two very decent free takers in Rory O' Connor and Paidi Foley ... Rory is out of his comfort zone outside 65 meters ... He starts to push his stroke for extra distance and thus sacrifice's accuracy ... Paidi Foley is a natural long range taker .. So why wasn't he told to take all the long range frees instead of us missing 4/5 of them before he took over ..

Puckouts
It too was highlighted on the Sunday Game .. We spent the 2nd half lamping puck outs on top of the KK half back line and I don't think we won one ... You can blame fatigue etc for this but surely if something isn't working someone needs to make a call ... The first half we probably retained possession from all our puckouts

Changes
We looked at MOH chasing TJ Reid for way too long .. People told me TJ Reid did no damage ... He did untold damage in the 2nd half .. Surely some change could of been made - even switch MOH with Liam Ryan ... Blanchfield did alot of damage on Firman but no change was forthcoming ... Chin didn't strike a ball for last 30 minutes and clearly was injured / fatigued / tired ... No change from the line on any of these places ..

Decision Making
In the first half we seem to make all the correct decisions ... 2nd half was complete opposite ... Conor Mc gave two prime examples when he failed to off load a pass and decided to shoot himself twice and drive wide .. Critical times in the game and reality is prob cost us at least a draw at the end ... There was times when TJ Reid was bottled up and instead of panicking or shooting he drove the ball back out the field ... possession regained

Reality is we probably better off with the route we now have in the All Ireland series ... Its a pity as I think we had the beating of Kilkenny and the first half was as good as a performance as I've seen from Wexford in a long time .. But for some reason in the 2nd half we stopped working as hard .. especially in our forwards .. too many KK lads won 50 / 50 balls .. The atmosphere in Nowlan Park was unbelievable ... and it was a great day out and great game .. Games like this show what makes the GAA special .. But I for one hope this new format stays .. It needs fine tuning maybe with teams playing 4 weeks in a row or maybe team management need to bring in some strategy for player / squad rotation ...

Now any chance of a round of local championship in the next 2 weeks :-)"
Good overview of the game,9pts up missed frees bad mgnt from the line(yet sone of your suppirters blame the ref, especially the number1 whinger davy)also credit our lads for doing what they do best(never giving in)"
They have the Cody/Kilkenny mentality alright. I dont think the final will be as 1 sided as Salthill was. At the same time while we are short a few players and a good bit more composure of genuinely challenging Galway for Liam, I think you are short more at the minute. And Codys reluctance to start Leahy is mystifying hes probably the only 1 of your 7 or 8 lads under 23 that would defo start for us...

They know the game is on that weekend since last November hardly short notice.
They could tell them the day before and it still make no difference, unless its played on the moon I can't see anything other than a 12-15 point win for Wexford. On the moon I'd expect us to win by 30

They are the truth though if we lose to Carlow or Westmeath, the whole team and management should be put out on gardening leave for a few years.

Carlow and Westmeath with the greatest respect to them are in the McDonagh Cup to win it. Your season defining moment for them is to win that competition. If you lose it your on the beer for probably two days afterwards, you might train once in that week and then face a fresh Wexford side smarting from a 1 point defeat to Kilkenny in Nowlan Park.

With the sliotars nowadays Hurl I'd say the puck-outs would go all the way round the moon and still go over the bar on the second circuit

Agreed seemingly if you score a sideline on the moon its worth 3 points.
Was Neil Armstrong the first man to hurl on the moon?

Other than James Owens reffing it and 4 lads sent off I didn't hear much else. (that's for real by the way, not a p*ss take of his recent performances)

VENUES

Where are Wexford U21s playing Galway?

Where are seniors playing Joe Mc Donagh winners?

Where are AI quarter finals?

Is it too much to hope that Quarters will be a double header in Croker?

Prelim qf will be in Carlow or Mullingar whoever loses their final. U21 final should be neutral venue in Leinster but Im not sure. There are no home and away agreements with Galway that Im aware of. AI qfs rarely in Croke Park. Id imagine theyll be in Thurles.

We have to play the winners of the Joe McDonagh so it's Carlow next weekend. The munster team doesn't have to play anyone as far as i know. Next year the Joe McDonagh winners play the Munster 3rd place them and Leinster go straight into a quarter final.

Where did you come up with that one. Maybe you're right but as I heard it we play Westmeath and Clare plat Carlow in two weeks time.

What a joke that the GAA are been allowed to make of the Leinster hurling Championship. The Leinster final is now to be played in Munster. Would the opposite happen with Munster? I don't think so. The arrogance of Croke Park Officials is unreal and for the Leinster Council to give in makes it worse. Guarantee that between they'll end up killing the game of hurling.
