Ulster 2018

(Oldest Posts First)

Derry will play the winners of Donegal and Cavan in the Ulster QF in Celtic Park. Will be a tough match on whichever team wins but I think we could beat Donegal or Cavan. That then goes on to an Ulster Semi Final against Down or Antrim, most likely Down which is another match that can be won if prepared well. That would then of course take us to an Ulster Final. With McErlain I am very optimistic that we can reach the Ulster Final and get into the Super 8s.

What is your optimism based upon? We don't at this stage have an indication of who Damian has called into the panel. There is rumours circulating that some big names from the past number of years have been dropped from the panel. No name dropping at this stage but it become clear soon. I was all in favour of Damian being appointed county manager and I hope he proves to be a success. However, based on his tactical approach to the All-Ireland minor final I am a bit concerned.

We had no plan B, Clifford who is a fantastic talent was given the freedom of Croke Park. I hope he will learn from that match and realise you will need plans A, B and C at senior county level.

I am hoping he can revive Derry football again and an Ulster final would do for starters.
