New Wexford football manager

A lot of traveling alright, Will be surprised if we win a game this year, won't get within 6 points of any of those teams, , in hindsight another year in division 4 probably better than winning no games next year,

Teddy5, I love all the optimism around here !!!

You reckon we'll soon be back in division 4 ? It's the only conclusion from your post.

And on the other thread you tell us that the manager is out of his depth.

Let's give the man a chance instead of writing him off before he even starts.

Ya out of his dept, and odds on to be relegated that's my opinion which usually fairly accurate, hope I wrong,I speak with my head, not wat my heart says, how could you be optimistic after carlow beat us and Monahan made a holy show of us this year,

Is it the new manager that makes you to be not optimistic or losing to Carlow and Monaghan? If it is the second (or both) was the last manager out of his debth too?

Both, anyway we will see, hope I wrong, hard to be optimistic

Is there any young talent added to the squad or any you think that should be? With the likes of Shane Roche, banville, brosnan retiring, surely allows for some young faces to be added? The team will be in transition for a few years without a doubt

Are those lads after retiring? Still only 31 or 32, still plenty left in the tank.

Hurlers gain footballers loss thats what I mean, don't be trying to start a argument,

Certain posters just spoil for an argument on this topic while beating the dual supporter bòdhran... don't mind it.

Agreed they are a massive lose to footballers and we are starting a rebuilding project from the lowest point I can remember (new manager ,such a drain of players etc.) AND i agree with youe earlier post it's very very hard to see us being competitive this year (and I am an optimist) but we have to keep trying and getting young lads interested.

Masterson as development officer is a step in the right direction on a long long journey imo.

A player has been dropped from the panel, a player who started every game last year in the championship. Without even kicking a ball at a trial or at training Mr McLoughlin has decided to chop players, seemingly its based on his time as a selector with Aidan O'Brien.

Interesting but don't think anyone could make a judgement on this yet. For the reasons of....
As you call him Mr McLaughlin is in charge. He is entitled to make the decisions and choose his own panel.
Also we don't know this player. Is he a hurler who is going to choose hurling, is he at end of his career and won't contribute much going forward. Was he indeed dropped. Is he good enough. We don't know

when starting a new season there should be no such thing as saying this lad was dropped or this lad was called up etc. No one has the right to be on a county panel and therefore each year a new panel is selected. Once we lost to monaghan all of those players were finished on the panel until such time as they receive the honour of being picked again.
