From the players I know from a few different clubs, the vast majority would prefer to have the game played on a Saturday Night, hence giving the Sunday off and Saturday to have a few if they want.

Also the fixture has not changed. The CCCC on the planner state that the matches can be played at any time over the weekend.

That is a strange one Kepak, looks like it's the only fixture on at 7pm as well. I know Brennan and Biggi are from Cilles, do pats have anyone involved? I can smell a rat here on this one. I'm sure there was plenty planning on making both fixtures this weekend. Surely no club competitive fixture should ever clash with a county competitive fixture???

Good start to the year for Skryne after their struggles last year. What happened Wolfe Tones last weekend? 2 points scored?

Not in this case clubs are not one bit happy, requested county board to change date but they refused.

You're right Juicy.......most players would rather have to play on a Saturday but not at the exact same day/time as the County team !!!

I'd imagine most club players will either go to the Meath game or at least watch it on TV,

Why can't Pat's/Cille's players be afforded the same as every other club player in the county ?

You say the fixture has not changed, but why is this game the only fixture across all the divisions that clashes with Meath/Cavan game ? Why can't it be played any other time over the weekend ? Why this game ?

Yes, ideally Cilles would prefer to play on a Sunday so that their county players could potentially be available to them. But I'm sure they'd accept a Friday night throw in instead of what's been fixed. This would give both players and supporters a chance to enjoy both games (and have a few on the Saturday night if they wish).

It stinks to be honest !!!!

Because our County Board are just a ridiculous and were giving no leeway or move on this. I am a Cilles supporter having to miss it now because im going to Cavan. Half of us here are going to Stamullen other half to Cavan. Personally i think its a disgrace.

I thought this was a wind up but I have actually seen if for myself on the fixtures. 7pm on Saturday - same time as in cavan. Stunning. Has this ever happened before?

From looking at the results over the past few weeks there has been a lot of walkovers given. A few more again tonight in the B League fixtures and Clonard gave Drumconrath a walkover in the A League last Friday. The club player is obviously losing interest which is sad to see.
