Bahaha what a surprise UM, suck it up good begrudgers, it's actually quite enjoyable to read the predictable bitching so keep going, I have all winter to smile :D realdub (Dublin) - Posts: 8592 - 17/09/2017 17:54:07 2046816 Link 4 |
Even if Mayo had have been awarded the penalty and scored it, the Dubs still would have found a way to win it. 2setsofrules (Down) - Posts: 99 - 17/09/2017 17:55:03 2046819 Link 1 |
It's funny what fools like you see. He didn't give the free for the two Dublin players colliding. He gave the free after that when two mayo players had their arms around the Dublin player. Watch it back.

Dublin deserving victors. Didn't like their antics at the end - similar to Kerry in 2014 - but this Dublin team still won despite not playing to their full potential. Mayo bottled it at the end once again when Cillian O'Connor had the chance to win it. Well done Dublin. 3 in a row is a huge feat though will there be questions over this 3 in a row when we look back in future years in that 2 of those victories were over Mayo? Stupid post, yes it could have been a penalty, but to say dublin didnt deserve it is just sour grapes, dublin played well in the second half and well done them. As for Mayo, how many more chances do ye need to win the all ireland PyatPree (Cork) - Posts: 376 - 17/09/2017 18:04:20 2046830 Link 3 |
Your wasting your time engaging with that sort of selective comment

I agree the two mayo players fouled the dublin player ,definate free. Very sorry for Mayo, a superb team but they had it in the bag and threw it away. Clarkes last kickout to midfield was pure madness, The foul for the last free was madness. Too many panicked substitutions by Mayo. The Dublin bench won it. Congratulations to Dublin. Mayo will be back next yr no doubt. Gaaisbest (Cork) - Posts: 1 - 17/09/2017 18:28:08 2046862 Link 2 |
Kilkenny had took all his steps before being floored. Got up and took more before the tackle. Over carried all day long and it's debatable if it's a foul. Dublin still deserved to win. Can't blame ref. Mayo needed to show more composure. One on one and hit it straight at Cluxton. Vaughan brainfart moment and kick out at end. Cillian O Connor should have looked for give and go on free to get a bettee chance.

That's what the free was for. Surprised the RTE commentators didnt pick up on that at the time.

I can see why Mayo fans might be unhappy with the ref but ruanua (Donegal) - Posts: 4966 - 17/09/2017 18:36:49 2046874 Link 3 |
Well done Dublin but the circumstances around your wins must bother you as fans cavanman47 (Cavan) - Posts: 5012 - 17/09/2017 18:43:03 2046879 Link 2 |
The steps for the Dublin goal is unreal. 9 or so steps taken. NaomhNaille (Donegal) - Posts: 124 - 17/09/2017 18:46:06 2046881 Link 0 |

If we won All Irelands would the circumstances round it bother you?

Actually hes right. Ref get free for a pull by Keegan who gave away 5 frees while on a yellow.

Just listened to Pat Mceananey on the radio who was asked about the referee's performance. He said he reviewed all the decisions made and he found that the referee got them all 100% correct. Specifically he mentioned the sending off of Vaughan, the Dublin free at the end of the first half where initially two Dublin players ran into each other (he said vaughan came in and gave the ref no choice) and finally on the penalty he said the ref definitely got it right as the foul began outside the box. In fact he went on to say that the referee was "Brilliant" on the day, and the only mistake he could find was one made by the linesman near the end where Mayo got the sideline ball and it should have went to Dublin. So thats that, the referee cannot be blamed so surely we now have to look at the inability of Mayo to win a match they could have won? Mayo were better side but Dublin were more composed when it mattered and that is what won it. seanie08 (Monaghan) - Posts: 1799 - 17/09/2017 19:02:04 2046895 Link 0 |
