Replying To GeniusGerry:  "Not sure where Killian is, his injury record would be a concern but if he is fit you could put him above Enright. Fionn is a good half back and has suffered from being played out of position very often, I would keep him on the panel but not in the 15.

Would you not have Burns in there starting at 10? He really impressed me during the league, I think he will be a huge player for us in the coming years. Casey would also be very close and it may actually make sense to start him rather than O'Brien, who is lightning off the bench against tired defenders.

There will be a real scrap to get in to the match day panel this year."
Did any of ye read brollys piece on the dubs ? It's interesting, they're just ultra athletic and I'm sure if we could match them athletically we'd have the football to beat them.

Don't know bout the refs though.

He was basically saying zonal defense won't work against the dubs the hermit that teams have to go man on man and out work them and ya it was the indo I think .

Basketball seems to be the way to go.

I don't think I'd agree with you at the moment. We are moving in the right direction, I am sure of it, but we have a bit to go yet. Our fitness has been an issue for a couple of years and I think the Mayo game last year was the kick in the hole needed for it to be addressed. Regardless of fitness we are a bit light in many positions assuming that we stick with the youngsters now.

It's not often I agree with Brolly but I do in this instance. What he is talking about is essentially what Mayo do in phases when playing them.
Not sure we have the personnel to pull it off at this stage but give our young guns 2-3 seasons of experience. Imagine Clifford, Foley, Burns, Gavin Crowley and O'Shea in another couple of years if they keep developing. The building blocks are there for another great team.

I would not be at all surprised if Dublin sweep the boards until then as there is nobody to touch them, Mayo have had a lot of injuries and look to be going in to the championship on the back foot. I am not sure they would survive another trek through the back door if Galway beat them. They are the only team capable of beating Dublin in Croker IMO and even at that they haven't managed it since 2012 iirc, so they haven't beaten the current incarnation at all, yet we are led to believe this is one of the greatest rivalries ever.

I think a semi final spot would be a good season this year and something to build on for next year. A final spot would be excellent, and I wouldn't bet against it as most of the others are no great shakes either.

I suppose it'l all depend on the group we're in and whether or not hypothetically we top it or come second, I think if we top it we avoid the dubs in the semifinal as they will top their group, the only way I could see Mayo beating the dubs is in a semifinal and if they can go through the front door.

I agree our fitness is very poor a bit like it was at times in the naughties till pat Flanagan came in and sorted us out .

Ya the young fellas are going to make it interesting and we'll need another bunch to come through In next years league, the U20s competition is going to be very important for us this year as well.

Yeah, dependent on a few bounces of the ball, I think we are well capable of getting to the final, League and Championship are like night and day for Kerry teams so I'm not expecting a poor Championship on the back of a poor League.
But hard to see us beating Dublin at this stage, but you never know - meeting in a final and all it takes is for them to just not show up or not perform to their utmost or to make a mistake that could tip it all in our favour.
In 1955 we beat the machine, in 1975 a team of youngsters confounded the country, we've done it before and we can do it again.

Both before my time thankfully. I reckon they had a very light programme during the league with very little tactical work and we gambled on staying up. We just about got away with it. We will be a different animal come the summer, but having so many youngsters in there together makes us vulnerable, no matter how good they are. For that reason I think we are least two years away from genuinely challenging for Sam. I know that's not what people want to hear but that's my view anyway.

Problem is Gerry you saying that to supporters who haven't had an All Ireland in 4 years! You know what we are like down here patience is not a virtue and no one wants to hear of 3 or 5 year plans. A canister in Sept is the only thing that will fly now for Fitzy.

They did very well, a great result. 5 in a row would be unbelievable but a long long road ahead yet

Ya a long road all right, I think they're away to cork next so that'll be a cracker of a game, some achievement by our minors winning 4 in a row and when you think out of the 24 games they played only 3 of them games were played at home.

Wallace who is now over the Offaly senior footballers was involved in something with and ardfert at the weekend and now he could be suspended for their opening rounds of the Leinster championship due to suspension, just wondering had anyone heard what happened ?

Oh I heard he was suspended but I thought it must have been something to do with a league game with Offaly.
So it was something involving Ardfert at the weekend instead?

Yeah from the little bit I heard it was to do with ardfert , I didn't know he was still involved with them and maybe he's not.

I just hope it won't be all sound bites the hermit, still looking forward to it and I hope he's asked the hard questions.

We'll they'll be a lot of questions after the League and I'm sure he'll get some thrown at him. I'll be tuning in with interest.
