That is entirely apropriate, though it is sad that ye (Leinster people) are in no rush to embrace the Under 21s and minors of Galway. When the Tribesmen were in Munster they were graciously treated as real fellow Munster men and allowed participate in all competitions.

Fair play to you. Ye will have your day in the sun. That is not patronizing with those young players coming on. We were robbed in the u21 this year but would not have been good enough to beat Limerick.

Your own county has given as much to the game as anyone else. I am on the road along time and seen many good players outside the elite. Laois players many. We were in division two once. Went to Mayo and had the pleasure of seen Joe Henry a fabulous player. Pat Dunning of Kildare, Mick Birmingham of Dublin and many more too many to mention. Been a great player on a lesser team is not easy and never gets true recognition. It is all ways about the Shefflins, Callinans and Gleesons. Not taking from them either but the great sport will only reach it full potential when your team and mine and others break the glass ceiling. That is why I would want Waterford to win even I was not from there but Galway is a great second choice. Canuck (Waterford) - Posts: 2660 - 17/08/2017 23:35:01 2034958 Link 0 |
Good point another reason to shout for our fellow provincial men. Every other province is clannish so we may as well stick together too. Cuige Mumhan Abu and Deise Abu. Killarney.87 (Tipperary) - Posts: 2513 - 18/08/2017 00:42:07 2034967 Link 0 |

Cheers Cannuck. Yes Christy O'Brien, Joe Dollard, John Taylor, the Cuddys etc. Westmeath had a great hurler, 'the jobber McGrath' around the 60s too. Laois76 (Laois) - Posts: 1270 - 18/08/2017 10:58:36 2035037 Link 6 |

Galway for me. Always my team in the Hurling. Also have family connections there and hope they get over the line this year. Like everyone else has said would be happy for Waterford too, were they to bridge the long gap.....but Galway this year! LetterkennyMan (Donegal) - Posts: 393 - 18/08/2017 11:50:29 2035066 Link 0 |
Obviously hoping the neighbours do it, but would be happy for Waterford to end their drought also. theshamen (Mayo) - Posts: 129 - 18/08/2017 12:02:15 2035071 Link 0 |
