25min drive for away supporters!! If you're west Galway and I saw a good number off them in tuam on Sunday there drive was more like 1h 25min. I will be in tuam on Sunday and pearse Sunday week to support the team!! hopefully west and north will travel to support the team no matter where we play.

Galway Bay FM are no supporters of the Galway GAA teams, especially the footballers. I always remember the commentator calling Galway footballers "muck" when they were drawing with the Dubs in the Pearse stadium. They also have no Gaeilge on that radio station. Well said. I remember attending qualifier in pearse stadium against westmeath in 2006. The same chaos that day for people who arrived 5 minutes before hand and expected to waltz into the ground. When the connacht council are running the gate arrive early is the name of the game. A Galway/Mayo tie was always going to attract a huge crowd especially in tuam.

So north galway men do you think if it was connacht final day we should erect tents and camp over night to be able to get into venue in time or can the logistics of tuam be altered for the bigger day...

Make up your mind what time you arrived at? 1pm well before ? or 1 15? Ill planned? Do back in the fifties they should have been thinking about people who wanted to park at the gate? As i stated already the only traffic issues were the people who tried to park at the gates of the pitch... And if they got caught after well then good enough for them... The annual Tuam AC 8k takes place this Sunday at 2.30 and it will pass near the stadium. There will be extra traffic and maybe a few restrictions after the game. I thought the town was buzzing on Sunday and brillant athmosphere. i left Briarhill just before 12.55 and got to the roundabout in Tuam at end of Motorway at 1.15ish . Bit of a backlog there so went straight on towards Milltown and in Ballygaddy rd and parked in O'Tooles .Was outside pitch at 1.30 . Only problem was got caught somewhere Saturday and couldn't get to a Supervalue so 1.45 before I got into pitch but that was partially my own fault even though I wouldn't say Connacht Council covered themselves in glory. Yeah, there's an exhilarating atmosphere in Tuam on match days v Mayo - and bear in mind an FBD round. Can't wait for the league to start - hopefully people will have worked out suitable parking areas for themselves, and arrive early.. Let's all get behind the stadium project. Long term, it will benefit Galway football hugely.
