Replying To Hardtimes:  "Hard to argue with that royaldunne. In a week that Donegal may possibly lose 2 very promising players to Aussie Rules, it no coincidence that Dublin, even though they have a vast array of talent at their disposal and should be ripe picking ground for the AFL, have little to worry about in competing with a professional sport. No county can fend off the Aussies better."
Exactly. We lost Nash (the best potential Meath midfielder since mcentee ) to Aussie rules. Look at Ciaran Kilkenny, it was more lucrative for him to come back to play with Dublin. That tells its own story. No county outside Dublin can compete with Aussie rules

RD are you saying that the Dublin players are paid or given gifts or something? Please edify.

Ok Royaldunne so if it was so lucrative for CK to turn down an Aussie rules contract and return home to play for Dublin how come he trained as a teacher to earn a living ! I read one of your previous post's regarding the Dublin players and the perks they enjoy and then that nonsense about one of the players buying a hotel in ashbourne well if you were better informed you'd know it was the players family that have an interest in that hotel and they've been in the licensed trade a lot longer than this particular player and his retired siblings have been playing for Dublin !

Really poor posting Royaldunne - very lame stuff.

Seriously you're just spouting blatant high grade ignorance there!

How about you just stop doing that no and perhaps try and be a little more informed?

Royaldunne I've often wondered why the Aussie rules scouts stay clear of young Dublin players my self, look at young o'Callaghan he'd be exactly what the Aussies are after.

I've heard that two young Donegal starlets Jason McGee and eoghan bán Gallagher have flown out to Australia to part take in trials, they would be too massive losses to Donegal.

Dublin never lose their best players where other counties do and that's a massive advantage for the dubs.

Replying To Ulsterman:  "The oul Derryman I walk the dog with in the park is STILL insisting Tyrone will beat Dubin. His predictions are scary at times at how accurate they are. He has been watching Gaelic football for over 60 years and can name you dates, fixtures, teams, results from the 50's onwards. As I stated before he predicted Donegal would beat Dublin in 2012 and Kerry to beat Donegal in the final.......he won 2 grand."
Mayo beat Dublin in 2012 and lost to Donegal in the final. What does he do, bring a gun to the bookies, or did he just predict the 2014 games two years early?

Replying To royaldunne:  "Not one Meath player has a free car. Dublin have 70+ full time coaches, Meath have 2 , Dublin has a full time paid back room staff of god knows how many fully paid , they are sourced jobs if they can't get ones, not one of them is unemployed unlike other counties. They have masseuse assigned to every player and sports phaycolgists , every advantage, including playing every major game in home ground with a home dressing room for every match. Other teams are barred from warming up on one side of pitch. Meath centre of excellence was very basic by comparison to others and is very small , I can't recall the cost but it was funded by a sports grant ( as well as fund raising) which Meath would not have got unless it was for a centre of excellence. If Meath cb asked for the money for cars for players they would not have got it.
Dublin are professional in EVERY aspect. This is something the gaa need to sort asap"
You've lost the run of yourself with those ridiculous statements. Zero credibility.

Aussie rules is not premiership soccer. One contract will not financially set you up for life. You could have a decent career in Oz and still find yourself in your 30s, broke, unqualified and starting over. So you need to be smart. For any lad going over the financial package would be modest but it offers a unique lifestyle and educational opportunities. But for lads with genuine ambitions of playing for Dublin that lure may not be as strong. People can argue all they want but the perks for playing with Dublin outweigh anything any other county can offer and staying in Ireland, playing with Dublin and getting a University degree can be the more attractive option.

The pilo hotel was sold for a considerable amount of money. The owners of this hotel are listed as Alan and Bernard brogan. I do know they come from a licencee family and it makes since Both would follow suit.

How many mayo players are given courtesy or (company cars) ? In Dublin it's every panel member. Btw some seem to think I getting at them over this , I most certainly am not, I am looking for the gaa to redirect funds so that every county player in country is given same advantage, if individual county boards cannot handle it then it must be done by hq , the same way they invested in Dublin. I am truly delighted for Dublin players , all I ask is that EVERY player who starts off in January gets the same looking after as Dublin players rightly do.

Why is the question. And why can't the Donegal Kerry Laois Meath keep the scouts at bay ?

Again I am delighted . I am on record as saying I am absolutely pro paying players. (Not saying dubs pay players)
I just want equality for all counties

That's exactly what I am saying. The perks should be available to every county player , be they from Kerry Dublin Cavan Meath or even Waterford. A guy eating a salad on xmas day , driving 30 plus miles to Dunganny getting hardly even enough to cover petrol money, while up the road from him is a guy who can go to his personal dietician in his paid for car and fuel card. It doesn't make sense. Again too many touchy dubs on here. That can't see all anyone wants is a equal playing field. Gaa hq can easily achieve this by redirecting funds EQUALLY to every county.
