Came pretty close to it in 2001 alright. Won the football and narrowly lost the hurling final. Hurlers have a good chance this year alright. The footballers are an improving side but it would be pretty difficult to see them potentially having to beat Kerry, Mayo and Dublin to win an All-Ireland. Especially Kerry and Dublin. The Hurlers have a great chance to win it. I can't see their footballers doing it mainly because they have not won a championship match in Croke Park since 2001 and they have not beaten Kerry in the championship since 1965. Won't happen, footballers arent near ready yet. Still though, you'd take Galways GAA lot easily over anyone elses as a fan at the moment. Ya haven't won a senior hurling title in nearly 30 years and that's what dual counties are judged on.
